In questo Street Food Tour di 3 ore, scoprirai la vera Ortigia, attraverso i suoi sapori, angoli nascosti e storie locali. Opzioni vegetariane disponibili! Inizieremo da veri locali: con un rinfrescante caffè ghiacciato siciliano. Poi dirigetevi verso la panetteria più antica della città per provare quello che credo sia il miglior Arancino di Siracusa, fatto fresco ogni mattina. Passeggeremo attraverso vicoli tranquilli, la piazza dei pescatori e angoli che la maggior parte dei visitatori non raggiunge mai. Al mercato si gustano capuliato, ricotta al forno, salame al pistacchio, pasticcini di mandorle, crema di pistacchio e – a seconda della stagione – pomodori pachino o fichi d’india. Poi incontreremo la mia famiglia allargata di casari e ci godremo ricotta, mozzarella e il miglior panino della tua vita. Concluderemo con una granita di frutta fresca della gelateria più tradizionale di Ortigia. Vedere l'isola attraverso gli occhi locali. Mi piacerebbe condividere i suoi sapori e le sue storie con voi. Itinerario
Inizieremo da Piazza Archimede, di fronte alla bellissima Fontana di Diana, che rappresenta la dea della caccia ed era considerata dai Greci la protettrice della città. Da qui ci avventureremo alla scoperta dell'isola, alla ricerca di nuovi sapori e aromi, immergendoci come gente del posto piuttosto che come turista.
Proseguiremo poi lungo Via Roma, una delle strade più suggestive e belle dell'isola di Ortigia. Assaggeremo il caffè che piace a noi locali. Naturalmente, da veri italiani, iniziamo la giornata con il caffè. Tuttavia, per coloro che non lo bevono, sarà disponibile un'opzione alternativa.
Successivamente esploreremo il fantastico quartiere della Giudecca, il mio preferito. Tra ex sinagoghe e qualche tesoro nascosto, condividerò i racconti delle ricette introdotte dagli arabi in questa zona. Approfondirò la storia dell'arancino, uno dei simboli della Sicilia, e ci sbalordiremo in varie versioni di questo piatto.
Ci avventureremo quindi nella parte non turistica dell'isola, un luogo ricco di storie e segreti che spesso passano inosservati a chi non conosce. Condividerò aneddoti e racconti sui nostri simboli e sulla cultura culinaria. Navigheremo attraverso l'isola e i suoi intricati sentieri, conducendoci al mercato locale.
Infine, raggiungeremo il mercato di Ortigia, un luogo magico ricco di sapori antichi, colori vivaci, persone e cultura. Assaggeremo varie offerte di diversi venditori, assaggiando le specialità locali come il "pomodoro alla siracusana", formaggi, salumi, olio d'oliva locale, ricotta e dolci di mandorle.
Successivamente, proveremo le delizie di un tradizionale caseificio, il luogo più incantevole di Ortigia, dove assaporerai i formaggi e il panino più delizioso che tu abbia mai assaggiato. Fidati di me su questo.
Concluderemo il tour con qualcosa di dolce e rinfrescante. Ci concederemo la tradizionale granita e, ovviamente, il cannolo siciliano presso una delle gelaterie più tradizionali e gustose dell'isola.

This was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Sicily! Dario wasn’t just a food guide—he shared his home, his culture, and his passion for Sicilian food in a way that made the entire evening unforgettable. Every stop was delicious, but what made the tour so special was hearing the stories behind the dishes, the traditions, and the history of Ortigia. Dario’s love for Sicily is contagious, and by the end of the tour we felt like we had experienced the island through the eyes of a local. The food was so incredible that we actually went back the very next day to eat at several of the places he introduced us to! That’s how good his recommendations were. I highly recommend this food tour! My family (2 teenagers included) really enjoyed it. We had the best arancini of our lives and the history that Dario shares about his island is truly facinating! This was a highlight of our trip.

Dario was a great guide. Friendly, fun and knowledgeable. There were 15 on our tour, a mixture of British, Irish, American and Australian. Atmosphere was really friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Dario was exceptional. He provided a great blend of history, culture. and, of course, great food places at which we were able to enjoy the best Ortigia had to offer. He was not only informative but also very entertaining. I highly recommend this tour - it is a great use of approximately 3 hours.
