Met our guide Pascale outside the Grand Theatre and immediately knew we were going to have a very good morning! Pascale was Bordelais, spoke perfect English and was extremely well prepared with a folder that she could use to share history and maps (plus just about anything else that helped her tell the story). Tailored to our interests we moved a a steady pace through Bordeaux where everything was 'brought to life' and placed in context. The personal tour (just the 3 of us) lasted over 3 hours but seemed to fly by in no time at all. Although the tour was free, we made a point of ensuring our professional guide received her due reward (not just a 'tip'!) If you have a city tour of Bordeaux with Pascale then you will be extremely fortunate - as we were! PS her recommendation of 'Brasserie 1925' was spot on (see my other review...)
Great guide Excellent walking tour and info
This was an excellent private tour by Nicolas! My sister and I enjoyed learning about the historic architecture and the stories behind them. We particularly loved the history of Eleanor of Aquitaine. This is a great introduction to Bordeaux and helps get yourself acquainted to the culture, history, and landscape of the city!
Excellent tour of Bordeaux, very knowledgeable guide. Pascale was friendly , funny & informative. Be prepared to walk as tour was exceptional value for 3 hours.
Nicolas was very knowledgeable about Bordeaux’s history. He was also very engaging as he explained the various sites around the city.
Nicholas the guide did a wonderful job covering lots of history and sites without feeling rushed.
Nicolas was delightful. He had a degree in French history, and on our ramble through Bordeaux gave us great insights into the history of the city. Bordeaux is exceptionally walkable, and Nicolas took us on a lovely picturesque route through all the historic gates of the city.
We did the route with Luisa and she showed us a city full of inspiration. She made it pleasant and interesting. I wish I could always find such a passionate guide. A 10 for Luisa and for Bordeaux.
Great tour of the old town and city with Pascal. She only does private tours so there were just the three of us. Avoid the “free” tours where there can be more than 20 participants. Pascal knew lots of history and features of the architecture. She apologized for her accent but she wa s perfectly understandable. By the time we had walked back to our hotel, we had 11,000 steps.
A super complete and interesting tour led by Luisa. We loved the tour and delving into the oldest and most current history of Bordeaux. %200 recommended.
