Malacca un tempo era un prospero scalo tra “Oriente e Occidente”, dove seta, oro, tè, spezie, oppio, tabacco e innumerevoli oggetti passavano di mano. I Cinesi continentali guidati dall'ammiraglio Cheng Ho scambiarono legami con il Sultanato di Malacca nel 1409. Nel 1511 i potenti Portoghesi invasero e presero il controllo di Malacca fino al 1641 seguiti dagli Olandesi. Oggi, questa città un tempo martoriata mostra i resti lasciati da ogni regola durante i suoi giorni gloriosi. Un tempo una città martoriata governata dai portoghesi nel 1511, vide poi l'invasione olandese nel 1641 e poi la Compagnia delle Indie Orientali nel 1826. Fai una passeggiata lungo le strade della memoria trainate da cavalli e i vecchi edifici, il cibo tradizionale locale e l'interno spazioso degli edifici. Punti salienti del tour: Christ Church, Stadhuy's (Piazza Rossa), Porta de Santiago, Collina di San Paolo, Chiesa di San Paolo, Caccia ai souvenir in Jonker's Street, Palazzo del Museo dell'Indipendenza, Cheng Hoon Teng, Via dell'Armonia e Bastion House sono tutti uno spettacolo pezzo del passato, l'insediamento portoghese, il Museo Culturale di Cheng Ho o il Museo del Palazzo del Sultanato.

This was hands down one of the best tours I’ve ever had! Michelle is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about tourism in Malaysia. She always made me feel comfortable to ask any questions or sit in comfortable silence soaking in the gorgeous views. We went to Malaka and Michelle knew all of the best restaurants for our preferences. I would highly recommend this tour with Michelle for anyone wanting to explore the beauty of Malaka!

We had a wonderful experience while visiting Malacca. This is all thanks to our guide David who is extremely passionnate about passing on the history and multi cultures in Malaysia and Malacca. Having David taking us in the right spots and explaining to us more about the country history made the whole difference. Thanks again David !

We weren't sure if we could fit Melaka in to our brief stay in KL but decided to do it and could book easily via the friendly staff at Hotel Stripes. Our hosts were Michelle and David who were very pleasant and well informed. Almost too much to recount here - they first took us to Merdeka Square which we might otherwise have missed for lack of time and then on to Melaka itself, stopping off at historical religious sites including the Hang Li Po well, the Portuguese settlement and some parts of the more modern Melaka before heading into the old town to see the world heritage site with its Portuguese, Dutch and British elements and taking in a river cruise which gave a different perspective. We also visited an excellent museum which explained the role of the Chinese admiral Zheng He in the emergence of Melaka. An amazing explorer and individual who should be better known, so thanks David and Michelle. We took a little time on our own to soak in the atmosphere and explore the shops before heading back to KL with great memories and photos. For me it was a trip down memory lane as I had lived in Melaka as a child so knew some of the history and Michelle could adapt her approach to give me new information. The town had changed dramatically since my time but I could identify enough of the old Melaka I knew to leave with a warm glow of remembrance of fond family memories and formative experiences.
