We did NOT get to go...booked through Viator and Viator cancelled our trip twice. Didn't care one bit! Here is the full story on our Portugal tours through Viator. A group of 12 went to Portugal and booked various tours through Viator. The first tour to Sintra, Regaleira and Pena Palace went great...had a fantastic tour guide who stayed with us the entire time. The next tour was a Douro River Boat Trip which was fun, but about 2 hours too long...also the "wine tasting" event was very poor...one small glass of Port and that was it! The Obidos, Nazare, Batalha & Fatima tour was ok - but the tour guide was a joke. She spoke a little on the bus and then when we got to the places, she did not get off the bus to guide us...we were on our own to figure things out. The final tour was supposed to be the Templar Knights...Viator cancelled on us the night before we were to fly out. It took our travel agent HOURS to find another tour only for the second tour to be canceled on us the day before the tour. Viator did not care about it at all. Very disappointing.
Dear customer, thank you for your feedback. We have been taking your feedback into consideration in order to improve our services.
We have just returned from beautiful Lisbon, where we were so fortunate to have booked two (full day private tours) one of which was Tomar. Sonia our driver and tour guide for both tours was so kind, caring, helpful, professional and knowledgeable. She had a warm engaging personality. We visited the amazing Almoroul Templar Castle, Tomar town centre, Church of St. John, Synagogue, Christ convent (a must see on your itinerary) and Church of St. Mary. Sonia had all the tours timed to perfection and everything was so well organised with no time being wasted. We loved sharing our time with Sonia and we have wonderful memories forever of the beautiful sights and having Sonia's company was an added bonus. Thank you so much Sonia for making our holiday so very special and for all the wonderful photos you took and your patience and consideration in my running in and out of the shops!!! Dear customer, thank you for sharing with us your experience. We look forward to having the opportunity to work with you in the future.
I am passionate about castles. The tour was wonderful, especially the Aumorol castle. Perfect trip for a couple. It was worth every cent :)
Dear customer, thank you for sharing with us your experience. We look forward to having the opportunity to work with you in the future.
We had an excellent guide and more, it was a personalized tour from start to finish, very professional, friendly and fun, the places Tomar and Almourol are wonderful and full of charm, they should be on the list of visits in Portugal. I definitely recommend this tour and if with our guide even better! Thank you very much!
I had a great time with Eduardo, he was very polite and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend him.
Mr. Eduardo Manuel Silva was a fantastic guide. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Knights Templar in Tomar. And you could tell he enjoyed sharing his knowledge. Without his expertise we would not have learned as much if we had toured the convent and Castle on our own. We did not feel rushed when we wanted to take photos. He took the time to show us a Roman aqueduct outside of the city. He shared a delicious non tourist restaurant with us. We returned from the tour with a greater sense and appreciation of the Knights Templar in Portugal. Give Mr. E. M. Silva a raise because he certainly deserves it.
Excellent tour guide! Joaquin gave us a very personalized tour of the castles and was truly fun to be around. Highly recommend a private tour like this if you can!
Everything was very interesting & our guide was very knowlegable of the history. Our group was 4 people & were disappointed to be picked up in a station wagon instead of a van. A little uncomfortable especially driving for over an hour.
This trip really emerges you into the life of the Knights Templar. If you're into the medieval ages, this one's for you! Vasco is very knowledgeable on the history of the Templar Knights and combined with his charisma, made the trip quite unique and a blast for both of us. Wish we could've done some other tours with him as well! Ps. Vasco knew a great medieval themed place to eat which was the perfect compliment to the day.
Viewing the castles and landmarks was great. While smoking is common in Lisbon, the driver was apparently a heavy smoker - and the smell was extreme. There was some short commentary - but periods of even 45 minutes with no conversation. Stops were primarily self - guided. I was directed to go into the town and explore - alone. No time frame. I then get a call from the company asking where I was. I was under the impression I would have a guide - not just a driver, and this driver just didn't seem to enjoy his job.
