Anche se ci sono vari monumenti storici in Armenia, il più antico e più conosciuto è probabilmente il Monte Ararat biblico. Un posto che non può mancare mentre in Armenia è il monastero di Tatev, che una volta era il centro educativo e spirituale dell'Armenia. È costruito su un altopiano nella gola del fiume Vorotan ed è circondato da montagne mozzafiato e fitte foreste. Puoi raggiungere qui la funivia Wings of Tatev più lunga del mondo.

Il monastero di Khor Virap si trova a circa un'ora di auto dalla capitale Yerevan e offre una splendida vista del simbolo che definisce l'Armenia: il maestoso Ararat. "Khor Virap" si traduce come "prigione profonda", ed è stato costruito sul luogo dell'ex prigione reale, situata nel sito storico di Artashat. Era questa stessa prigione in cui tenevano Gregorio l'Illuminatore, il primo cattolico armeno, per 13 anni interi. Pertanto, non sorprende che questo posto sia uno dei luoghi più sacri per gli armeni di tutto il mondo. Allo stesso modo, è anche il punto più vicino al Monte Ararat dall'Armenia; molto spesso questo spot diventa il motivo numero 1 per visitare il nostro paese!
Il tour ti porterà alla Grotta degli uccelli. Nel 2008, gli archeologi hanno scoperto molti dei manufatti più antichi del mondo, tra cui una scarpa in pelle e un'azienda vinicola. Il sito, che si affaccia sul fiume Arpa vicino alla città di Areni, dovrebbe risalire principalmente alla prima età del bronzo (circa 5.000-6.000 anni fa). Contiene anche prove di elaborati rituali di sepoltura e pratiche agricole.
A parte Khor Virap, un altro posto da non perdere è Noravank. È una delle gemme dell'architettura armena medievale, incastonata tra le splendide scogliere rosso mattone alla fine del Canyon Gnishik. Qui vedrai l'unica e unica rappresentazione di Dio Padre in Armenia, che è altrettanto sorprendente quanto il volto di Gesù Cristo che apparve sulla cupola del nartece della Chiesa. Costruita da nobili orbeliani, spicca tra le nostre chiese come il sepolcro di questa nobile famiglia, rendendola unica poiché era assolutamente vietato seppellire persone all'interno di una chiesa sin dal V secolo.
La funivia più lunga del mondo (circa 6 km), iscritta nel Guinness dei primati nel 2010. Durante la pedalata, godrai di una vista spettacolare su uno dei luoghi più belli dell'Armenia (se non in il mondo).

The tour guide is very professional and very atmospheric, making it easy for everyone to interact. The car is comfortable, it is worth visiting the place, and finally go to a place selling Portuguese wine to try wine, although not my favorite taste, but still can try it, the price is reasonable.

We had a small group with Anastasia and she treated us like family. She was engaged, educational, and funny. Edgar our driver was quite impressive. The sights were stunning and the wine tasting was fun and not too long after lunch. And the spot we stop at for lunch is absolutely beautiful, on a small lake. Would do a tour with this group again!

Armenia is stunningly beautiful and such a different country! We are very lucky to have a guide - Anastasia is insanely interesting about the history of the country and its culture. Learned a lot of new things not only within the route, but also what else must be seen in Armenia. So we're already planning our next vacation here. Recently we were on 4 excursions from this agency, visited Khor Virap and Noravanka (03.04), Delijan and Lake Sevan (05.04), Garni and Gegard (09.04) and cable car in Tatev (11.04). We were very pleased. Liked the comfortable minibuses, treats and attitude in general. We even asked once to change our schedule for two tours and the agency was happy to help us. All the guides did well, especially remember Naira Vardanyan, Jasmine and Sona. Separately I want to note Naira V. - she tried to make the stay of all tourists comfortable, suggested beautiful locations for the photo and helped with any questions. We were very lucky to take her on two tours out of four. P.S. On the bus, seats are allocated on the basis of "first come, first come, best seat", so if you do not want to sit at the end - just come to the meeting in advance. P.P.S.
