Itinerario
Ritsurin Koen (栗林 公園) è un giardino paesaggistico nella città di Takamatsu, costruito dai signori feudali locali durante il primo periodo Edo. Considerato uno dei migliori giardini del Giappone, si suggerisce spesso che Ritsurin Koen meriti un posto nella lista dei "tre giardini più belli del Giappone" accanto a Kenrokuen di Kanazawa, Kairakuen di Mito e Korakuen di Okayama. L'ampio parco ospita numerosi stagni, colline, alberi storici e splendidi padiglioni divisi in un giardino in stile giapponese a sud e un giardino in stile occidentale a nord. I giardini si trovano di fronte al Monte boscoso. Shiun che funge da sfondo meraviglioso e grande esempio di scenario preso in prestito.
Il castello di Takamatsu (高 松 城, Takamatsujō), noto anche come castello di Tamamo, fu costruito nel 1590 adiacente al mare interno di Seto. È uno dei pochi castelli giapponesi costruito sul lungomare e presenta fossati di acqua salata che attingono direttamente dal mare. Il clan Ikoma governò dal castello per 54 anni prima che il loro feudo fosse affidato al clan Matsudaira, parenti dello Shogun Tokugawa, che mantenne la regione per il resto del periodo Edo. Il mastio del castello di Takamatsu fu distrutto durante il periodo Meiji, ma ci sono piani per ricostruirlo in futuro. Un primo passo verso questo obiettivo è stato raggiunto nel 2013 quando il restauro della fondazione della torre del castello è stato completato dopo molti anni di lavoro.
All'interno del centro di Takamatsu c'è una lunga galleria commerciale coperta che si estende dal castello di Takamatsu a Ritsurin Koen. Costituito da vari negozi, ristoranti e due grandi magazzini, si afferma che sia la galleria commerciale coperta più lunga del Giappone con una lunghezza complessiva di quasi 2,7 chilometri. L'estremità settentrionale della galleria commerciale vicino al castello di Takamatsu e al grande magazzino Mitsukoshi è stata recentemente riqualificata in una grande piazza e un centro commerciale con negozi esclusivi come Louis Vuitton e Coach. Lion Dori, una strada secondaria parallela alla principale via dello shopping, contiene principalmente ristoranti tra cui quelli che servono Sanuki Udon.
Questo museo di Ritsurin-kōen espone artigianato locale, articoli per la casa, mobili e tegole nelle sue quattro sale, risalenti alla dinastia Tokugawa.

It was wonderful to have such a personalized tour & we were able to walk through the beautiful Takamatsu Castle with indepth explanation of history and culture. We even stopped to have lunch at a famous noodle shop that makes/teaches how to make the famous Sanuki noodles.
The guests were very kind and listened to my explanation attentively, therefore I have been very happy to guide them. For lunch first I took them to a famous and old Udon noodle shop, but it was closed on that day, Tuesday. It was my mistake, then I came up with another Udon shop I used to go and we went there. I was happy that the guest said I had never had such a good Udon noodle. Kaji
Mari was a fantastic guide. Before the trip she sent us an itinerary for our consideration and took careful account of our interests and wishes. My husband, son and his girlfriend and cousin toured Takamatsu with Mika and we had an excellent time with her. Mika reached out via email when I booked the tour and was was very helpful in planning the day and taking care of all our requests. She went out of her way to take care of us.
