The boat was in great shape and the crew was welcoming and professional. They made you feel safe and welcomed. The trip started out in the pouring rain. We were all surprised when we headed to the bridge and the rain stopped and we were greeted with a beautiful sunset. How lucky were we. The crew of three were outstanding. A delightful way to wrap up a day in Newport. Entertaining host. Lovely evening. Learned some interesting historical tidbits and gossip. As an older couple, we enjoyed being amongst the 30-something group of friends who shared the upper deck with us.

Well the girl we checked in with told us to board the wrong boat. We ended up on a boat with a college reunion. We were so embarrassed we sat up by the captain in front and tried to keep our heads down. The skipper tried to give us some info on the trip. He was shocked we were on the boat then laughed. Nothing could be done so we made the best of a bad situation. But when the employee looks at your ticket then tells us to get on the Coastal Queen we did what she said. You would have thought she would have said you are on the next boat departing.
Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience began with confusion at the dock. After reviewing the circumstances, we found that you did not check in with our ticket booth or boarding staff prior to departure. We have designated check-in procedures, signage directing guests where to wait, and staff available to verify boarding passes before guests board our vessels. It appears that you were inadvertently directed to and boarded a different company's vessel, where you were allowed aboard despite not being listed on that boat's passenger manifest. Unfortunately, once that vessel had departed, there was little that could be done to correct the situation immediately. We understand how uncomfortable and frustrating that must have been, and we appreciate your making the best of an unexpected situation. We are continually working with fellow operators at the dock to help ensure guests are directed to the correct vessels and enjoy the experience they booked.
