A very special tour with family that included the largest lake in Central America. We also visited the town square complete with a horse drawn carriage ride, we also saw an active volcano and had a wonderful Nicaraguan lunch.

THIS IS THE PERFECT TOUR TO DO IF YOU WANT TO SAFELY SEE NICARAGUA. I personally did not have the best experience in Nicaragua due to unrelated circumstances (getting sick and having issues at the border), but this specific tour helped me and treated me so well. I would 1000% do it all over again! Elmer and Elvis helped me when I was grouchy, sick, and in pain and even took me to a pharmacy. They were so patient, helpful, and kind. They made me feel happy and safe despite how awful I felt. Unfortunately, I did 4 stars instead of 5 because the border felt VERY shady and my passport was taken for a long time, but they helped us get through safely and quickly. The van was so comfortable and the food was absolutely to die for!! I went almost a year ago and I'm STILL thinking about the food. I think it was the best I've ever had on any trip. The country itself is absolutely stunning, too. The scenery is just gorgeous. Everything is also very affordable. NOTE: Most places are cash only, you may have to pay for bathrooms, and I was able to do this mid-chronic pain attack, so it's most likely suitable for physical needs. For Monkey Island, the boat ride is harsh and bumpy. The chocolate in the chocolate factory was not fresh so I don't recommend buying it. It was WAY expired, but the place itself was so fun! Most importantly, Nicaragua is NOT a place where you can freely talk about the government or anything political, so be careful. You cannot take pictures at the border nor of officials/some buildings. Be mindful and respectful and you'll be fine. Duration: 11 hours
Thank you so much for your review.hope you feel better
First, we were brought across the border to Nicaragua in a highly professional manner. First stop at Lake Nicaragua with breakfast. Then we went to the town of Catarina overlooking a water-filled Volcano cones. Another highlight: At the crater rim of an active volcano. The plumes of smoke were clearly visible and also smellable. After learning about coffee and cocoa processing (very entertaining) we went to the more than 500-year-old City of Granada. The visit was very worthwhile as there were many well-preserved buildings to see. The city presents itself perfectly to its visitors. A very colorful cityscape ! Finally, there was a trip across Lake Nicaragua in a speedboat. A view of the islands of the "rich" and the wildlife (among other monkeys) rounded off the day. A highly recommended tour, although the day was exhausting. I have rarely experienced such a varied tour, with a lot of information about the country and people. Thanks to our guide !

Great tour, highly recommend. We got a lot of stuff for a good price and our tour guides were great.
Thank you so much for your review.
I’ve booked many tours on Viator, but this one was by far the best! Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish - professional communication even before the tour and flawless coordination throughout the day. I can’t imagine how much time and stress it would have taken to cross the Costa Rica–Nicaragua border on my own. The tour in Nicaragua itself was simply outstanding, a masterpiece of planning and storytelling. If you want to see all the main highlights of Nicaragua in one day, this is definitely the tour you need!
Thank you so much for your review, it is so important for us and for future travelers to know about your experience around Nicaragua for the day.
This was an incredible one-day trip from Liberia, Costa Rica to Nicaragua, and absolutely worth it if you may never have another chance to visit Nicaragua. The tour company has everything planned down to the minute, which is essential for such a very long day. They also handle the very chaotic border crossing seamlessly. Something I can’t stress enough! Communication before and during the trip was excellent, and being in a small group kept everything running smoothly. Our guides were fantastic. They were knowledgeable, attentive, and charming. Gustavo deserves special mention for guiding us through the border process with minimal stress, and Daniel was a wonderful driver who also helped at the crossing. They helped us know where to stand, move, and do. We were never left alone. There was constant communication at the border crossing, which is essential. Highlights of the tour included beautiful Granada, the amazing Isletas boat ride (the favorite of our group), and the active volcano. The little islands were a truly unexpected delight with some unbelievable houses. Lunch in Nicaragua was high-quality and delicious, and the thoughtful touch of personalized maracas as a souvenir really showed their attention to detail. Yes, it’s a very long day. There's no way around that and a lot of time driving but it’s organized so well that the time feels well spent. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
Thank you so much for taking the time and share your experience , well detailed.. God bless you
