Una passeggiata incantevole di due ore, alla scoperta dei luoghi più amati di Siena. Inizierai davanti alla Basilica di San Domenico, dove sono custodite le reliquie di Santa Caterina, per poi proseguire verso la sua antica casa. Passeggiando per le caratteristiche strade raggiungerai il Duomo. Decidi con la guida se vuoi entrare brevemente per vedere il pavimento marmoreo e le opere di Donatello, Bernini e Michelangelo. Arriverai alla famosa Piazza del Campo, dove due volte l'anno si svolge il Palio. Scoprirai questa tradizione medievale e capirai perché è così importante per i senesi. Il Palazzo Pubblico è un esempio di architettura italiana, che ospita l'importante museo cittadino. Ammirerai anche la Fonte Gaia e la guida ti racconterà i divertenti aneddoti sul misterioso fiume chiamato "La Diana". Alla fine del tour visiterai la nostra sede all'interno di un palazzo storico, Palazzo Scotti, dove potrai scattare foto incredibili dalle nostre esclusive finestre con vista su Piazza del Campo.

Itinerario
Il tour inizia davanti alla Basilica di San Domenico. Da qui potrete ammirare una vista incantevole della città. All'interno della chiesa sono conservate le reliquie di Santa Caterina da Siena.
Il tour proseguirà verso il Santuario della Santa, dove visse con la sua famiglia. Scoprirai la storia di questa donna mistica, sposata al Signore, che ha cambiato non solo Siena, ma è riuscita a trasformare per sempre il nostro mondo.
Il palazzo Tolomei, uno degli edifici più antichi, si trova in piazza Tolomei, che nel Medioevo era la piazza più importante della città. In questa piazza si trova una colonna con una lupa. Scopri come e perché Siena è strettamente legata a Roma, con la sua bandiera bianca e nera.
Ci fermeremo al Battistero, per vedere dove le persone venivano battezzate.
La visita della città prosegue verso la Cattedrale, il grande complesso museale che contiene la Cripta, il Battistero e il Museo dell'Opera. Decidi con la vostra guida se vuoi entrare brevemente all'interno della Cattedrale per vedere il pavimento marmoreo e le opere di Donatello, Bernini e Michelangelo.
Passando per le caratteristiche vie, arriverai alla famosa Piazza del Campo, la piazza principale di Siena, dove due volte l'anno si svolge il noto Palio. Qui si trova il palazzo comunale, che ospita il più importante museo cittadino. Benny was a great tour guide in explaining Siena and its history; Catherine, its patron saint; its contrade and Palio di Siena. Even though the Siena Cathedral was not a part of our tour, I had contacted the tour company in advance about getting skip-the-line tickets to the cathedral. Benny accommodated us that day by securing the skip-the-line tickets and taking us on a brief tour inside. It would not have been the same if we had tried to do it on our own - we wouldn't have gained the same knowledge, so we really appreciated her doing so (even though it meant forgoing some of the other items on the tour). The cathedral was worth it - amazingly beautiful inside. In addition, the exclusive window view of Piazza del Campo was also worth it. To actually gain entrance to one of Siena's buildings, go to the top and see the piazza from that viewpoint with a cool, refreshing drink and small snack was a fantastic way to end the tour. Plus, our family of six were the only ones on the tour, which made for a memorable and feeling like VIPs for the day.

We really enjoyed our stay in Siena. Proximity to Campo off from the famous and ancient Via Città was two minutes. The apartment has two large bedrooms, a large living area with nice furniture and a fully equipped kitchen. Just one bathroom, but that was spacious. Friendly owner.
I never thought the view from a window could be so spectacular! I was almost moved! Siena is beautiful and I couldn't ask for more, really. A wonderful experience in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, of truly poignant beauty.

Our visit to Siena was very exciting thanks to Ludovica. She took us from St. Francis’ Basilica to the Cathedral through the various districts of the Palio. We were in Siena for the first time and enjoyed the tour very much. Especially the tour of the cathedral was highly informative and interesting. Especially the detailed description of the history and significance of the neighborhoods with their coats of arms and customs made the tour so special. That the explanations for the traditional horse race were also not missing was then self-evident.
