È il più grande lago d'acqua dolce dell'Armenia e uno dei più grandi laghi d'alta quota del mondo.
Il monastero è costituito da due chiese, Surp Arakelots (Santi Apostoli) e Surp Astvatsatsin (Santa Madre di Dio), costruite con pietra vulcanica scura. La chiesa è seduta su una collina, offre una vista panoramica sul lago Sevan e sulle montagne circostanti.
Il quartiere presenta balconi in legno, case in pietra, tetti in tegole rosse e strade acciottolate, che riflettono il ricco patrimonio della città
Immerso nelle foreste di Dilijan, il monastero è circondato da dolci colline verdi, che lo rendono un rifugio tranquillo. Costruito tra il X e il XIII secolo, è un importante centro religioso e culturale.

Arsen was my tour guide and he was fantastic - great communication and very good knowledge. Was able to help me out with everything and gave very good recommendations. Would definitely recommend him and Tatev tours.
The tour was very convenient to schedule and the itinerary was flexible. The guide was friendly and gave us glimpse of the history of the places we went to and we stopped in between for photos in the beautiful mountain roads. The monastery in Sevan lake had 200 stairs but we have the flexibility to go up or not. Even below the monastery there are souvenir shops, fruit shop, bakeries and restaurant so you can opt to stay down and visit these stores. Overall it was lovely experience the road trip to all the places itself is really good.
