Esplora i punti salienti delle due principali collezioni d'arte di Oxford, all'Ashmolean Museum e alla Christ Church Picture Gallery, con uno storico dell'arte e uno specialista di Sotheby's. Unisciti a me in un viaggio ricco e divertente attraverso la storia dell'arte europea, dall'Antica Grecia all'Impressionismo francese. Lungo la strada, scoprirai capolavori che vanno dalla Caccia nella foresta di Uccello, al Tramonto in mare di Monet. A metà percorso, faremo una pausa caffè all’Ashmolean’s Rooftop café. Andremo poi a piedi alla Christ Church Picture Gallery, parte della Christ Church, uno dei college più famosi di Oxford, per vedere capolavori della loro collezione di dipinti e disegni principalmente italiani, tra cui i dipinti di Botticelli delle Sibille, e Testa di Giovane Donna di Verrocchio, uno dei disegni più belli rimasti del Rinascimento fiorentino. Durante l'esperienza, ti verranno introdotte competenze specialistiche, tra cui l'individuazione di restauri di pittura e l'identificazione di carta del XV secolo.

Ai viaggiatori verrà data una panoramica della storia dell'arte europea dall'Antica Grecia a Picasso, attraverso la focalizzazione sui punti salienti della pittura e della scultura. Vedranno capolavori che vanno dalla famosa "Caccia nella foresta" di Paolo Uccello del XV secolo, ai "Tetti blu, Parigi" di Picasso dipinti nel 1901, così come vedute di Oxford di Joseph Mallord William Turner.
Potrete gustare un caffè e chiacchierare nel bar / ristorante Ashmolean Rooftop, che ha una splendida vista sulle guglie di Oxford.
Vedrai i punti salienti della Christ Church, la cui grande collezione di dipinti e disegni antichi principalmente italiani è unica tra i college di Oxford e Cambridge. Avrai la rara opportunità di vedere bellissimi disegni rinascimentali, che sono in continua esposizione.

I understand that the guide was ill, but we could have received notification earlier that 10:47 . They have our number. We did the tour unguided. It can be done very effectively without a guide. Museum ( Ashmolian ) entry is free
A fantastic experience with a very friendly, knowledgeable guide. It was great to be taken to the Christ Church Picture Gallery which is tucked away and has many treasures of its own. Not visited by many tourists, we had the place to ourselves which made it extra special. Thanks Natasha for your enthusiasm . Such a treat to ‘talk’ paintings with an expert.
Our tour included The Ashmolean Museum and Christchurch College’s art collection. The Ashmolean Museum was very interesting and our guide Natasha brought the paintings and their painter’s to life for us. She is incredibly knowledgeable and made the whole experience a pleasure. We had coffee and cake in the museum’s restaurant before heading off to Christchurch College. All the staff were very helpful and polite at The Ashmolean. The only dampener was the visit to Christchurch College where we found the staff to be rather rude.

Very detailed conversations about the history and style of the exhibits. We were able to choose some that interested us and Natasha was very knowledgeable. Not always about the specific piece but the style and influences
A great tour of galleries I'd been meaning to go to for a while. I wonderful way to see them, with a knowledgeable and warm guide. Her understanding of the renaissance was particularly fascinating. The Bellini painting of St.Jerome was a particular highlight. I'd recommend to anyone.

Had an amazing experience with Natasha at the Ashmolean Museum, I learnt so much and it totally opened my eyes the power of art. I would really recommend this tour as it is different to other guided tours I have been on. Natasha really knows her stuff, coffee was fab at half time as well
Had the most fantastic and informative tour of the Ashmolean in Oxford yesterday. Natasha Broad was such a fun guide and super knowledgeable. We asked question after question and she didn’t hesitate. It was so fun learning about the stories behind the paintings and the various techniques used. Would highly recommend, and next time we’re back in the area we will ask her to be our guide again! 10/10
