San Damiano è una chiesa con un monastero vicino ad Assisi, in Italia. Costruito nel 12 ° secolo, fu il primo monastero dell'Ordine di Santa Chiara, dove Santa Chiara costruì la sua comunità.
Costruito su una scala grandiosa, la Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli è la settima chiesa cristiana più grande. La sua magnificenza potrebbe essere in contrasto con la semplicità predicata dallo stesso San Francesco, ma le greggi di pellegrini che venivano a visitare la primitiva cappella di Porziuncola e la Cappella del Transito richiedevano un edificio che potesse accogliere i fedeli.

The young Italian woman, who was our tour guide, gave us an amazing informative and enjoyable tour of St. Francis and St. Claires's spiritual journey in Assisi! I learnt so much! We could feel that she truly loved her job and her spirit was inspiring and contagious! Forgive me, for not remembering your name. I will always remember your spirit! This was a memorable experience for my 2 adult daughters and I. I want to mention and thank the van driver, who navigated the curvy roads so skillfully. Assisi is truly a spiritual historic quaint unique town, which I fell in love with! A pure joy! The landscape scenery of the countryside from St. Francis' Hermitage and His Basilica was truly breathtaking! This is my favorite town, so far! Don't miss it!
A wonderful and informative tour of special Franciscan sites outside the old town of Assisi. A must for those who follow Franciscan spirituality.
Werner was excellent in showing us around, giving us time where we wanted to stop . Very knowledgeable of all there was to see and experience. Wished we could have sat longer in the silence of the woods like St Francis

First, Francesca was a wonderful guide. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about Francis and Assisi, and attentive to what we hoped to experience by visiting these 3 sites. I wish the tour was a little longer to allow for more "contemplative" time - particularly Eremo della Carceri (which was wonderful: beautiful statues of Francis, Francis' bed, quiet grounds...) and San Damiano (both were peaceful & uncrowded in contrast with the Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli/Porziuncola which was extremely crowded and packed with tour groups). We were 2 couples of family and the transportation was in a comfortable private van. We were very happy with the overall experience.
