This is an amazing experience. It’s something I wouldn’t normally do, as completely out of my comfort zone. I am so glad I did. It was very educational as well as practical and helps you understand the concept behind the art. Well worth a go, you won’t regret the experience.

Both the sensei and his colleague were very professional, yet friendly and approachable. We learnt a great deal about this martial art, and it has opened the way for us to continue studying it in the future. I highly recommend this authentic experience and insight into Japanese traditions.
This was a great experience. In the 2 hours you are learning, you will come away with a great understanding of the history, meaning and discipline it takes to practice Kendo. I never dod this before and was not overwhelmed. The instructor and his assistant tookngood care of the class.

I recently experienced Kendo Spirit in Tokyo. From the moment I stepped into the dojo, I felt a very respectful and clean atmosphere. The instructors were very knowledgeable, patient and skilled. We learned about the history of kendo, practiced drills for moving and attacking and then we were able to try some matching. I appreciated the etiquette that surrounds kendo and the spirit of Bushido felt in the dojo. I highly recommend Kendo Spirit to anyone visiting Tokyo. It’s a wonderful introduction to the history and culture of kendo.
