I cannot recommend this business higher and our guide Edwin. The company was incredible and had everything well planned and prepared for our journey. The support staff was efficient and helpful and our guide was of the highest quality. Edwin showed true professionalism, care, knowledge, compassion, and a willingness to get to know everyone in the group on a personal level. He ensure we could trust him and was always offering information about the culture, history, and landscape as we hiked. He ensured that if anyone struggled they would have the support needed to keep going. If I ever meet anyone coming to Peru I will be recommending Edwin by name through this wonderful company.
a wonderful experience trekking with amazing guide Bruce. Bruce managed all our needs and options. to complete this trek. we are 60 and 70 year old couple and were treated so well to manage all aspects of this adventure. Great food and great walking. The perfect hike. Highly recommend Bruce and Inkayni
Inkayni Peru tours - This 5 day Salkantay trek was awesome! The guide and support staff were all fantastic and the food was plentiful and amazing. Better and fresher food than we were eating in Cusco. Our guide Edwin was professional, fluent in English, great sense of humour and highly organised and communicative. Communication with the tour operator during the booking process was very timely and Inkayni delivered on every promise. 100% recommend this tour, tour operator and our guide Edwin.
Great service from start to finish. Booking experience was easy and communication from Inkayni was always timely with great explanations. Follow up by the company was also very good to ensure all details were clear and correct before starting the trek. Our guide Edwin was fantastic, a true professional with immense levels of knowledge about the trek, the country and its amazing history and culture. Edwin was also extremely personable and took pride in everything he did. He was also excellent in managing the support teams (horsemen and cooks). Everything was explained in briefings the night before so we knew what to expect and had a good outline of the day ahead. Edwin also took the time to ask us if we had further questions or needed to clarify anything. The trek delivered everything that was outlined in the itinerary and the meals were excellent with variety at every meal and no repeats of menu.
Everything happened as planned, and Edwin had answers for any queries we had during the trip. His knowledge, and fluent English made our trip very easy. The scenery was stunning and so worth the effort. Machu Pichu was a superb finish to our trip, with Edwin's detailed knowledge of the Inca culture adding to the experience
Me and my partner had an amazing experience with Inkayni and our great guide Ronald. He took us safely from Mollepata and all the way to the top of Mount Machu Picchu. The choice of Inkayni instead of bigger international companies felt very important to us. We got a small intimate group, and along the way we only worked with local people and farmers. From our horse driver and chef, to the camp owners and coffee farmers. In addition we slept in tents, which elevated the experience multiple levels. The feeling of waking up to crisp cold air beneath Salkantay Mountain before the second day of the trek, seeing the sun rise on the surrounding mountain tops, was incredible and moving. We recommend Inkayni to anyone interested in an authentic experience. A local company that helps bring money from tourism back in to the local economy. Guides with great knowledge of both the trek, and not the least about the history of the Inka culture. We learned a lot every day! Thank you Inkayni and Ronald, and Hugo and Ruben. We will never forget the experience!
I just got back from the 5-day Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu with Inkayni and I honestly don’t know where to start. I went in nervous about the altitude and the distance, and I came out feeling like I’d done something that actually changed me. Most of that comes down to our guide, Paul Cano. I can’t say enough about this guy. He read the group perfectly — pushed us when we needed it, slowed us down when someone was struggling, and somehow always had a story or a bit of history right when the trail got quiet. On the hard climb up to the Salkantay pass he stayed at the back with the people who were hurting and got everyone over the top. That kind of care isn’t something you can fake. Paul, if you’re reading this — thank you. You made this trip what it was. The rest of the crew was just as incredible. Ruben, our chef, somehow produced restaurant-quality meals out of a tent in the middle of the mountains — I still don’t understand how. We ate better on the trail than we do at home. And Victor and Hugo, our mule drivers, were up before us every morning and quietly handled everything so we could just hike. The whole operation ran like clockwork because of them. If you’re on the fence about Salkantay vs. the classic Inca Trail, do Salkantay, and do it with Inkayni. The scenery is unreal, the team is world-class, and you’ll come home with the kind of memories that stick. Easily one of the best experiences of my life.
Experience was amazing. Beautiful trek through high mountains and river valleys. Machu Picchu tour was amazing. Our guide, Ronaldo, is the consummate professional. Highly recommend company and Ronaldo.
I loved the trek, it is absolutely beautiful and Edwin, our guide was phenomenal (5/5), as well as the food (5/5) and obviously our group! However the organisation wasn’t amazing - they forgot to pack inflatable pillows (included in the booking), did not inform our guide that most of us were vegetarian, even though we’ve told them multiple times. I had to pay 70$ more for a single tent as I was travelling alone, but then they forgot to pack two single tents instead of one big one. And for the price I think they could invest in new camping gear, as e.g. my sleeping bag was very clumpy and one of the drawstrings was broken.
Just recently came back from our Salkentey Trek this month and the trip was awesome! Such amazing views and an unforgettable experiene. We had Paul as our guide and he was just great! He lead us with patience and had a lot of knowledge about the people, area, and places we went. He was funny, sarcastic when needed, and encouraging every step of the way. Cristobal was such an AMAZING cook, I have no idea how he was able whip out such amazing food everytime, we were literally stuffed and could barely finish our food. They made sure we were well fed and hydrated along the way and without this amazing crew we would not have made it or enjoyed the trip nearly as much. My sincerest thanks to everyone on this Trek, y'all made it truly unforgettable.
