Lascia la città alle spalle e avventurati nel leggendario Empty Quarter (Rub al Khali) — il più grande deserto di sabbia del mondo. In questa spedizione privata di un’intera giornata con 4x4, percorrerai quasi 400 km andata e ritorno da Salalah, attraversando città desertiche, paesaggi di incenso e siti archeologici prima di raggiungere le dune dorate incontaminate. Mentre il sole tramonta su orizzonti infiniti, vivi il silenzio del deserto, gusta le bevande locali e scatta foto indimenticabili lontano dalla folla. Non si tratta di una semplice corsa sulle dune, ma di un'avventura unica nel cuore vero dell’Arabia.

Guida attraverso le montagne di 'Qara'. Su una strada che sale a zig zag progressivamente su una collina verticale, mandrie di cammelli e bestiame sono comunemente avvistate lungo il percorso, offrendo una vista pittoresca su uno degli ambienti di Dhofar. Fermati e visita Wadi Doka all'inizio del distretto di Najd (semi-deserto), a 35 chilometri a nord di Salalah, verso Thumrait (insediamento beduino). Arriva in questa riserva nazionale registrata dall'UNESCO, che contiene 1230 alberi perenni di incenso coprendo un'area di 5 km², e vivi un'esperienza reale riguardo a questo prezioso e famoso albero. Oltre al suo profumo aromatico, l'incenso è anche usato come elemento curativo.
Procedete verso la città di Thumrait per avere qualche minuto di ristoro e magari gustare un caffè arabo (Qahwah) accompagnato da datteri (Tamer). La città di Thumrait è stata un punto fondamentale nelle antiche rotte commerciali dell'incenso. Preparati mentre ti dirigi alla prossima tappa, l'archeologica città perduta di Ubar.
Visita la leggendaria Città Perduta di Ubar, scoperta nel 1992 con l'aiuto dei satelliti della NASA.
Cavalca le dune, insegui la luce e termina la giornata con un orizzonte dorato. Vivi l'emozione del dune bashing attraverso la maestosa Rub' al Khali, poi fermati in cima alle dune più alte per guardare il sole fondersi nelle onde di sabbia. Un mix perfetto di adrenalina e meraviglia in uno dei deserti più remoti del mondo.

What a wonderful adventure into the Arabian Desert! Mohammed was the perfect guide as we toured first the Frankincense trees and he even brought me my own bag as a souvenir! The Desert trip is far but worth the journey! I highly recommend bringing a bottle of wine to watch the sunset. Photos were worth the trip.

Sunset in the desert is definitely a unique and unforgettable experience. But also the journey in the plateau that precedes and full of charm. The trip also includes some stops, all spectacular, in the Wadi, at the top of the mountains and sunset over the sea. A big difference in these days is the guide. HAMID was fantastic and was able to give us special moments, just in those less touristy and obvious things.
