Il Colosseo, monumento simbolo di Roma, fu chiamato così in epoca medievale per via di un'enorme statua di Nerone che sorgeva accanto ad esso, il Colosso. Nel grande anfiteatro si svolgevano i ludes circenses, che consistevano principalmente in combattimenti tra gladiatori e combattimenti con animali feroci.
Il Circo Massimo è un antico circo romano, dedicato alle corse di cavalli, costruito a Roma. Con i suoi 620 metri di lunghezza e 140 metri di larghezza, è considerata la più grande struttura per spettacoli realizzata dall'uomo.
La piazza è nota perché dal “buco della serratura” del portone d'ingresso è esattamente inquadrata la cupola di San Pietro all'estremità del giardino.
Il Gianicolo è un colle romano, è uno dei luoghi più panoramici della città con vista ad est sui quartieri limitrofi e sul centro storico con i maggiori monumenti architettonici della città. In cima alla collina (praticamente sotto la statua di Garibaldi) dal 24 gennaio 1904 è sistemato un cannone che spara a salve a mezzogiorno esatto.
Piazza San Pietro è la piazza antistante la Basilica di San Pietro. La piazza fa parte della Città del Vaticano ed è delimitata dal confine con lo stato italiano.
Castel Sant'Angelo, noto anche come Mausoleo di Adriano, è un monumento di Roma, situato sulla riva destra del Tevere (il fiume romano). A poca distanza dal Vaticano, è collegata allo Stato Vaticano attraverso il corridoio fortificato del "passetto". Il castello venne radicalmente modificato più volte in epoca medievale e rinascimentale.
Piazza Navona è una delle piazze monumentali più famose di Roma, realizzata in stile monumentale dalla famiglia Pamphili, con la tipica forma di un antico stadio. Piazza Navona, ai tempi dell'antica Roma, era lo Stadio di Domiziano che fu costruito dall'imperatore Domiziano nell'85 e nel III secolo fu restaurato da Alessandro Severo. Era lungo 265 metri, largo 106 e poteva ospitare 30.000 spettatori.
Fino al XV secolo la piazza non esisteva come tale, e al suo posto c'era un prato fiorito con alcuni orti coltivati, da cui il nome. Secondo una tradizione non attendibile, la piazza dovrebbe invece essere intitolata a Flora (donna amata da Pompeo, che le aveva costruito vicino il teatro).

Domenico was excellent. He tailored the tour to what we wanted, and made sure we were parked in the shade (whenever possible) on a 34deg day. Took us directly to lots of places we would never have found on our own, or in a hop on Hop off tour. Couldn’t recommend this tour, and Domenico, enough.

Such a great idea because it ended up being 94F the day we were in Rome and it was so nice to be escorted around in an air conditioned van, stopping very conveniently for us to get out for as long (or short) as we wanted—Amer would wait for us right where he dropped us always VERY close to where we wanted to be. Awesome!
Do not book! The tour guides themselves were great! Andrea was very nice and very knowledgeable about his city! The vehicles were nice and well maintained and provided a cool break between site visits and greatly appreciated. Thank you!! However, the company is shady at best. They asked to be paid offline outside of Viator for an additional 250 Euro per vehicle (we arranged for 2). After receiving payment and ONLY on the morning of our adventure, were we told that our return trip required another full payment of 500 Euros. They are not honest in their business practices. We were able to arrange for another method of travel on our own after being harassed for the additional payment and refusal to take us back to port (our original pick up point). Again, only on the morning of the tour was it mentioned that our return trip was not included. We did get to see many nice sites in Rome, but we had to “encourage” our guides to take us where we wanted to go as they were not using the published guide of 8 stops during our 3 hour tour. Rome is a beautiful city, but with tourism as their primary means to their economy, be careful and continue to write reviews, as I would never want this to happen to another traveler! Dear Nedra, As you can see from your first wrong reservation, you booked 3 hours tour in Rome for 14 people (2 vans) without mention that the pick up and drop off location was at Civitavecchia cruise port, very far from Rome downtown (about 160km). As you can read on Viator communication platform, our team asked you if you also needed the 2 rides from and to Civitavecchia Port and you told us to book only one way (from Civitavecchia port to Rome); only at the end of the sightseeing tour, you asked the driver to take you back at the Cruise port. And we had to ask you for sure to pay an extra fee (always for 2 vans). For the next time, we kindly suggest to check which kind of product you're booking. Thank you
Amer was a wonderful tour guide and excellent driver! For our last day, we were exhausted but still had so much we wanted to see! He took us to everything and more and we were able to get out and take several photos! The Mercedes Van was beyond comfortable and luxurious! This is a must do! Thank you SO much, Amer!!!
It was a great tour! I highly recommend Roberto, we asked him to help us navigate Rome like locals and he took us to nice spots, waited for us, recommended a great place for lunch and dropped us off right where we needed to be. Amazing service and vehicle.
