In questo tour di un giorno esploreremo i punti salienti di Heimaey e scopriremo l'affascinante bellezza di quest'isola al largo della costa meridionale dell'Islanda. Questo tour ti consente di scoprire meraviglie naturali come la Roccia dell'Elefante e di goderti l'osservazione delle pulcinelle di mare al promontorio di Stórhöfði. Itinerario
La tua avventura alle Isole Westman inizierà dal punto di partenza prescelto a Reykjavik. Una volta tutti a bordo. inizieremo il viaggio di 2 ore fino al terminal dei traghetti di Landeyjahöfn. Lì saliremo a bordo del traghetto Herjólfur per un viaggio panoramico di 30 minuti verso l'isola di Vestmannaeyjar.
All'arrivo, il tour inizierà con una sosta per ammirare le viste mozzafiato della Roccia dell'Elefante (Halldórsskora). Questa straordinaria formazione è realizzata in roccia basaltica, plasmata durante un'esplosione vulcanica da Eldfell. La sua silhouette caratteristica, che ricorda la testa di un elefante con la proboscide che si tuffa con grazia nell'acqua, lo rende un punto di riferimento inconfondibile.
Successivamente visiteremo il promontorio di Stórhöfði per un'incantevole sessione di osservazione delle pulcinelle di mare, offrendo molte opportunità per catturare deliziose foto di questi uccelli carismatici.

Dopo il pranzo, il nostro itinerario ci porta a Skansinn, situata adiacente all'area del porto e che prende il nome dalla fortezza che un tempo occupava questo spazio. Qui incontrerai Stafkirkjan, una suggestiva chiesa in legno "vichinga" norrena, accanto a un faro che offre viste mozzafiato sulle scogliere sottostanti.
Dopo l'esplorazione di Skansinn, la nostra avventura continua con un'escursione sul vulcano Eldfell, la cui ultima eruzione è avvenuta nel 1973. Una volta raggiunta la vetta, potrai ammirare un magnifico panorama dei campi di lava circostanti, della città e del tutta l'isola si estendeva sotto.
Dopo l'escursione, avrai l'opportunità di passeggiare tranquillamente per la città al tuo ritmo o scegliere di esplorare gli affascinanti campi di lava mentre ritorni al porto. Ci riuniremo nuovamente al porto nel tardo pomeriggio per imbarcarci sul traghetto per la terraferma, garantendo un tempestivo ritorno a Reykjavik entro la sera.

The tour was overall excellent. Our guide, an Icelandic native, shared many facts as well as personal stories. He accommodated those of us who could not or chose not to do aspects of the tour. Unfortunately, due to the ferry schedule, we had to leave at a way-too-early time on June 26, but that is not the guide's or company's fault. We lucked out with good weather and saw and experienced many great things.
Incredible visit. Our bus even got a flat tire and the driver pulled it off. The ferry was amazing. We saw a pod or pilot whales on the voyage. My recommendation to the guide is more time for lunch. We were advised to walk in town to get food but then there was not time to get the food. A longer lunch would be ideal and less stops for 5 minute picture taking. Way too many tiny stops. It took more time to get on and off the bus than it did to take the pics. Make lunch 45 minutes at least please. The puffins were amazing. The in-town walking time was a delight. Seeing the museum and the volcanic destruction was eye opening. We will Recommend to all.
We really enjoyed our tour with Jakob! Warm, friendly and entertaining, very knowledgeable, good stories, and a good driver. We loved the puffins and our other stops!

A wonderful experience all around. Our guide/driver, Siggy was great and informative, any questions I had were answered immediately, transportation was timely, and the food at the lunch stop was excellent. The history of Westman Island and the 1973 volcano was fascinating. We enjoyed seeing the puffins, birds and the landscape.
The landscape here is gorgeous. The history of volcanic eruptions is very interesting. Every stop was wonderful and given plenty of time. Small group of only 8 people, all of whom were delightful. Do not miss the visit to these islands. Our guide Sichao was hind, patient, informative, and a great driver. He went out of his way to make sure we saw so much, including a surprise waterfall at the end! A full day of adventure! The trip to the ferry was about 1.5 hours, but enjoyed the lovely scenery on trip to and from. Ferry ride was very pleasant. A terrific day!
coordination and transportation was good. the tour information and guide experience was lacking. Felt like the guide was just going thru the motions. I think he was a sub but for this price the guide should be better

Great day! We saw about a thousand puffins (seriously!). And many other birds. Also learned a great deal about the volcano including a really interesting hike on it. Rebecca was an excellent guide!
