In Piazza Duomo si apre alla vista l’imponente Cattedrale di Siena, e proprio da qui inizieremo la visita. Dopo un' introduzione sulla straordinaria facciata decorata con statue raffiguranti filosofi, profeti e sibille che sembra dialogano fra loro, la nostra guida vi racconterà la storia del perchè è purtroppo rimasta incompiuta. La visita prosegue al suo interno dove avrete la possibilità di ammirare importanti capolavori in marmo istoriato, le meravigliose statue di Michelangelo, la Cappella di San Giovanni Battista che custodisce un’opera tarda di Donatello; la Cappella del Voto del Bernini, tele e affreschi. La visita all’interno della Libreria Piccolomini è un’esperienza straordinaria. Gli affreschi di Pinturicchio e Raffaello raccontano scene della vita di Enea Silvio Piccolomini, divenuto Papa Pio II. Nei periodi di scopertura del pavimento la guida si soffermerà anche ad illustrare alcuni dei pannelli sotto la cupola, opera dell’artista senese Domenico Beccafumi.

Incontrerete la guida davanti alla facciata della Cattedrale, presso il portale centrale in bronzo. La guida vi presenterà questa magnifica chiesa dall'esterno e poi scoprirete le sue bellezze dall'interno.

- In caso di gruppi numerosi sono obbligatorie le radio per entrare in Cattedrale; possiamo prenotarle e fornirle con un piccolo sovrapprezzo

Elena was an excellent guide, with profound knowledge of the art historical backgrounds as well as the historical epochs. Elena did not lecture; it was more of a conversation with someone knowledgeable. I would have loved to repeat the tour with Elena in Rome or Florence; it was simply nice.
Fantastic tour. Barbara Latini was extremely knowledgable and engaging and made the tour an absolute delight. Because she could see how our small group of 5 was so interested, she continued well beyond the allotted time. Very highly recommended

The specialized guide Elena accompanied us on a two-hour visit of the cathedral of Siena. The visit was incredibly engaging thanks to Elena's professionalism that combines an immense knowledge of the subject with a great ability to transmit and also a nice and friendly attitude. Our guide Ludovica was very kind in respecting our times, she very prepared put passion into explaining things without ever getting bored I found excellent her way of exposing the explanations and I must say that I managed to memorize a lot (which is not always obvious) I would say great experience to recommend certainly!!

Beautiful city but that could not be visited except with a guide that we called wonderful. Thank you Ludovica for making us appreciate the wonders of this city. Very useful signs for parking, excellent starting point and the visit seemed adequate to our needs..... On the tour of high quality.... Highly recommended.l

Our tour guide, Sabrina, was fabulous. She was extremely knowledgeable about the Duomo and Siena. In addition to what was on the itinerary given we had bought the expansive entrance ticket she also took us into the Crypt. After we were done with the Duomo she showed us the church where they bless the horse for Palio in her Owl neighborhood, where community food gets served and the race museum. She also took us into a local bakery and helped us buy desserts. She truly cared and loves what she does and was so enthusiastic to show off her city!!!
