Questa avventura di un'intera giornata ti consentirà di godere sia delle magnifiche viste panoramiche offerte da Salvador, sia di scoprire la sua ricca storia, la straordinaria architettura e la cultura dinamica, risultato della fusione di popoli portoghesi, africani e indigeni. Vedremo la città da diverse angolazioni, scoprendo la Città Bassa, con la sua atmosfera bucolica dell'interno, attorno alle calme acque della Baia di Ognissanti, e proseguendo fino alla punta della penisola di Itapagipe, l'estremo ovest di Salvador, e poi il Città Alta con il suo Centro Storico – culla della storia della nostra città.

Itinerario
Il nostro viaggio inizierà al Farol da Barra, dove godremo della vista spettacolare dell'Oceano Atlantico e dell'ingresso della baia.
Ci dirigeremo quindi a Dique do Tororó, dove apprezzeremo le famose sculture degli Orixás - Dieti africane dell'artista Tati Moreno, che riflettono l'influenza africana nella vita quotidiana dei bahiani, e vedremo lo stadio di calcio, Arena Fonte Nova.
Mentre ci dirigiamo verso la Città Bassa, attraverseremo il vecchio centro finanziario di Salvador e il porto di Salvador verso il distretto di Ribeira.
Avremo la possibilità di fermarci nella gelateria più tradizionale della città, la Sorveteria da Ribeira, dove avremo la possibilità di gustare alcuni degli oltre 70 gusti disponibili, molti dei quali realizzati con i frutti tipici della regione.
Successivamente, arriveremo alla Chiesa di Bonfim, una delle chiese più famose di tutto il Brasile e grande rappresentazione del sincretismo religioso così presente nella nostra cultura, dove possiamo legare i tradizionali nastri colorati e chiedere a tutti i santi la loro protezione . Mosso dalla fede, il popolo di Bahia cammina per 8 km (5 miglia) all'anno durante il tradizionale festival Bonfim.
Lungo la strada, andremo a Ponta de Humaitá e faremo una sosta al Forte di Mont Serrat, dove godremo di una vista panoramica mozzafiato su Salvador.
Raggiungeremo quindi la sommità della Città Alta, dove i portoghesi costruirono la prima capitale del Brasile, simile ad un'acropoli. Dalla Piazza del Municipio vedremo il Palazzo Rio Branco, il Consiglio Comunale e l'iconico Ascensore Lacerda, da dove godremo di una magnifica vista sulla baia con le sue isole, l'antico quartiere finanziario e il Mercado Modelo, un mercato dell'artigianato.
Passeremo per la piazza Sé, dove fu costruita la prima cattedrale del Brasile e ne possiamo ancora vedere le rovine.
Originariamente fu costruita la piazza Terreiro de Jesus, sede dell'ex scuola e chiesa dei Gesuiti. Oggi è la nuova Basilica Cattedrale. A questo punto forniremo tempo libero per il pranzo.
Dopo pranzo, visiteremo una delle cattedrali più belle del Brasile. La Basilica Cattedrale del Salvador è la madre di tutte le chiese cattoliche brasiliane e ospita una delle più importanti collezioni di arte sacra brasiliana.
Piazza San Francesco è nel cuore della città vecchia, dove troviamo bar, ristoranti e botteghe artigiane. Ma il punto di riferimento qui è davvero la famosa chiesa di San Francesco d'Assisi, un vero gioiello barocco (visita). Biglietto non incluso.
Questa è una delle piazze più belle di Salvador, dove si trovano la Fondazione Jorge Amado e la Chiesa del Rosario degli Uomini Neri.

La mia auto è una Toyota Corolla XEI 2023 nera. Per gruppi più numerosi, posso organizzare un comodo furgone come mezzo di trasporto. Posso andare a prendere i viaggiatori in hotel, nella Città Vecchia o al terminal delle navi da crociera. Per gli hotel al di fuori dell'area specificata sopra, addebito una tariffa per il ritiro e la riconsegna in hotel.

Carlos led us on a fabulous trip around Salvador introducing us to the history and culture of his amazing city. His winsome enthusiasm for his city was contagious! He was kind and thoughtful with sharing umbrellas on our rainy day. He showed us all the highlights and found the perfect lunch spot for us to enjoy delicious Bahian cuisine! Carlos was an incredible guide! He is so knowledgeable about Salvador and the history, architecture, and culture of the city. The tour is fantastic - we really learned a lot and got to see so many special places and enjoy some incredible food. Carlos speaks perfect English and took care of all of the logistics for our group of 9 people with lots of luggage, and even arranged transportation for us unrelated to the tour. Highly recommend!

Carlos took us on a great tour of Salvador. We booked directly (always our preferred option). Having don’t the previous day blindly wandering around it was so much better to have a structured day with a guide to explain everything to us. You really gain a lot from this. We started in the Barra district (where I am writing this review from on the beach☀️) and during the day traversed both the lower and upper city, we had a great time and Carlos was the perfect guide. He was easy to talk with and clearly very knowledgeable about Salvador. We would recommend the tour to anyone.

We had an amazing tour of Salvador with Carlos, he spoke English very well, we learned so much history of Salvador and Brazil from Carlos. He took us to a fabulous place for lunch. Carlos was wonderful! So knowledgeable. He modified the itinerary based on our interests. We saw so much in 6 hours. When it started to rain he went back to his car and got umbrellas for us. He picked a great place for lunch and got us back to the ship in plenty of time.
