Itinerario

We had an amazing experience making the ascent to Santa Ana Volcano (Ilamatepec) with Maure Tours. From the beginning, the service was very well organized: comfortable and punctual transport, excellent communication and a very professional team. The hike lasts approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, with well-marked trails and spectacular views of Lake Coatepeque and nearby volcanoes. Upon reaching the top, the crater and its turquoise lagoon are simply breathtaking, a sight that really rewards all the effort. The guide was very attentive, providing interesting information about the history, geology of the volcano and safety measures, which made us feel accompanied and safe throughout the tour. In addition, we were given clear recommendations on hydration, use of sunscreen and proper footwear. The logistics were excellent, Maure Tours commitment to punctuality, safety and comfort of passengers was noted. I definitely recommend this tour for those who want to live a unique experience in contact with nature and know one of the most emblematic destinations of El Salvador. We would definitely travel again with Maure Tours!
Our trip was excellent, it is not the first time we traveled with them and we always received first class service. This time we were delighted again with the organization, punctuality and attention throughout the tour. A special recognition for our guide Cindy, very friendly, professional and always pending every detail. Fully recommended! We will definitely travel with you again.
Muchas Gracias por sus buenos comentarios. Los esperamos pronto, para vivir una nueva experiencia.
(Driver and Guide were great… BUT!) I paid extra to receive private transport and private guide to Santa Ana Volcano. No portion of this tour was private. The tour company advised me the day before that my transport would include 4 other people, and the pick up time would be 4:15am vs the initial 8am. In essence changing the tour time from 8am-4pm, to to 4am-6:30pm, to account for pick and drop off of the other passengers! To compensate me for the additional cost of the private tour the operator advised that my entrance to the natural park would be covered and I would receive a private guide once at the park. I agreed. However, no one in the group paid an out of pocket entrance fee, and I did not receive the “local private guide” that I was told. I stayed with the original group of 4 the entire time. I’m requesting a reasonable reimbursement for the difference between the cost of the private tour and the shared group tour- but it is being denied. I will reject the entire transaction with my credit card company shortly. There was no portion of this tour that was private. If you book private, just know, it may not be private.
Reasons why the tour refund is not applicable: The reason the tour refund could not be issued is that the client claims to have paid $150, which is incorrect, as the actual price of the package is $117. The second reason is that the day before the tour, the client was asked if he would be happy to be picked up at 4:00 a.m., as there was an option to join a private group of foreigners, and the client agreed. This group included entrance fees and a private guide, and since it was a private group, no participant (including the client) paid for additional tickets. If the group had not been private, the tickets would have been paid for directly at the venue. The driver, Carlos, and the guide, Helen, are witnesses to this, and there is also a recording of the conversation where the client confirms his acceptance and the tickets purchased for the group should he need to verify them.
The Santa Ana volcano hiking and lake Coatepeque tour organized by Maure Tours was the best experience during our visit to El Salvador. It was a challenging experience for our family, but stunning views of the volcano’s crater at the top made all our efforts well worth it. We truly enjoyed this fairly difficult hike of approximately 5 hours ( 2.5 hr up and 2.5 hr down) that took us through a picturesque forest that turned into a stony terrain when we got closer to the top. Our tour guy Gabriel was wonderful, patient and very helpful. Thanks to him we made it safely to the summit and down. The lunch at the restaurant with the view on Coatepeque lake was delicious. I highly recommend this tour with reliable and punctual Maure Tours.
Im so glad you enjoyed it, Thanks for your good comments.
