Such a fun class! A great way to experience Portugal’s famous pastry. Mike and Raquel were very knowledgeable and made the class fun!
Rui & Ana did an amazing job teaching us all how to make pastel de nata! They were fun, engaging and we left with a new appreciation for the classic portugese dessert.
This was an absolute highlight of our trip! My husband and I had a week in Porto and wanted to experience tradition and culture in addition to the usual tourist spots. We took this class on our last day (it was scorching hot so being indoors was a definite plus!). It was a wonderful way to "wind down" on our final day. I chose this company because I saw they offered vegan options and I was hoping they could accommodate someone with a gluten intolerance. My husband was thrilled to be able to eat the famous Pastel de Nata! The class was so much fun! Our hosts were funny and personable and so attentive. We enjoyed making the pastries as well as eating them! I ordered the little metal tartlet molds as soon as we got home so we can make them for family (we have a few gluten free individuals who will definitely enjoy these treats). I highly recommend this workshop.
A must do while in Porto. This class was super fun and accessible to people of all ages. They provide step by step instructions and a recipe to take home. We loved Rui and Ana. They were very knowledgable, fun and provided lots of great information both about Pastel de Nata and Porto in general.
Thoroughly enjoyed this pastel de nata cooking / baking class. Rui was a very personable and patient teacher. The end result is delicious. Strongly recommend.
We had a fantastic time with Rui and Anna! They did a superb job coaching us through the pastry making process, offering us not only the skills to make these delicious traditional treats but interesting insight into the history of the tarts. Very friendly and fun experience, highly recommend! It was the perfect amount of time for this unique experience.
Incredible experience! Would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves cooking, eating, or simply likes having a good time! Our chef named Rui gave us many useful tips and tricks. The process was smooth, the chef guided us, but let us experiment with the recipe, which was great. The Pastels de Nata were super tasty and had the perfect texture. Thus, the entirety of the experience was amazing and our Chef Rui made it even more enjoyable.
Absolutely loved this experience. The instructors—Luis and Ana—were very kind and they made sure to include everyone in a different step of the baking process. They also were informative about the history of pastel de nata and it was very interesting to learn that this pastery originated from leftover egg yolks in the monastery! The process of baking and eating the pastries at the end made the experience overall very rewarding and engaging at the same time and I would recommend this to anyone who loves eating pastel de nata and baking!
Lovely family experience. A bit of history and baking insights, with warm and friendly hosts. Also in a cool central area, so easy to make a morning / afternoon of it.
Our family of four, including our two kids, had such a wonderful time at the Pastel de Nata cooking class with Ana and Rui! From the moment we arrived, they made us feel welcome and created a fun, relaxed atmosphere that was perfect for both adults and children. Ana and Rui were patient, knowledgeable, and did an excellent job explaining each step of the process while sharing the history and traditions behind Portugal's iconic pastry. They made the class interactive and engaging, and our kids loved getting hands on with the dough and filling. It was a great balance of learning, laughter, and, of course, enjoying some delicious freshly baked pastéis de nata. What really stood out was how genuine and personable Ana and Rui were. We had great conversations throughout the class, and it felt like we were spending the afternoon with friends rather than simply attending a cooking lesson. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Porto and an experience our whole family will remember. If you're visiting Porto whether you're traveling as a couple, with friends, or as a family I highly recommend taking this class with Ana and Rui. Thank you both for such a memorable and enjoyable experience!
