Descrizione
San Giovanni Rotondo is famous all over the world as the native city of St. Pio (known as Padre Pio) of Pietrelcina, and as the city where the venerated monk worked his miracles. Itinerario
San Giovanni Rotondo is now famous all over the world as the native city of St. Pio (meaning Pius, and known in Italian as Padre Pio) of Pietrelcina, and as the city where the venerated monk worked his miracles. Pio was beatified in 2002, and it was he who founded the Sanctuary adjacent to the ancient Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie. Next to the Convent a second, larger Sanctuary (designed by noted architect Renzo Piano) was inaugurated on July 1, 2004.

My wish for so long to visit this beautiful, spiritual place has come true🥰 Francesco , our guide , & Luigi, our “smooth operator “ driver who drove thru the hairpin bend roads with great ease - were both wonderful! I would have loved to include a tour of the House to Relieve Suffering -Hospital & Rehabilitation Center started by Padre Pio ; instead the St Michael’s Cave visit was just as amazing 🥰 I would come back to visit again in Spring or Fall.
Thank you so much for this review. Really appreciate it, hope to see you again sometime!
This tour, thanks to the amazing and professional Tour Operator, Rome Italy Explora, and their knowledgeable and courteous Tour Guide, made this a memorable and enjoyable experience.
We're happy to see that you had a 5-Star experience traveling with us! Thanks for sharing.
This was a wonderful tour, well worth the money. Our guide, Deborah, both knowledgeable and passionate. Our small group was picked up on time and met at the entrance of the museum. The four-hour tour in the evening was exhausting, but exhilarating. Skipping lines is also a pleasure. I would highly recommend the RomeItalyExplora tour of the Vatican, particularly at night when there are fewer people.
Thank you for recommending us in your review! We’re glad we made your experience with us a great one and will be happy to help you again soon. Arrivederci :)
