Brilliant tour that was tailored to our own needs. Great driver and tour guide Hugo!!
If you know what you want to do or see, this was the best tour as Antonio met all but one item. We wanted to eat octopus, we ate fish instead, as the restaurant owner forgot it when we ordered it. Not a big deal but we got to go to a local market, learn about cork, and see the tile church. We were thrilled. Made only 1 tourist stop, the sane library of Harry Potter fame. Main thing is we could do and see what we wanted to without being dragged through other tours. We were very happy as this was our best tour of the cruise and we booked it ourselves.
Antonio was fantastic! So warm and friendly. Very flexible on the schedule. He took us to a beautiful market, the cathedral, and many other great places. The highlight was when he took us to a local place for lunch when we asked. Delicious! Such a good day! We also got great pastel de nata. Super knowledgeable as well.
Was great spending the day with Antonio and getting to see all the local treats and shops. Conveniently located at the Port for pick up, no hassle dealing with taxis or busses.
Ricardo was a wonderful tour guide and helped us make the most of our day in Porto & Gaia. He added a few stops I had requested when I booked the tour with Hugo, who was wonderful in quickly answering questions I had about the itinerary and accessibility issues for my 86-year-old mom. We appreciated Ricardo finding ways to make the stops much easier for my mom to navigate and pointing out some fun things besides the main tour stops, like street art & the most glamorous McDonalds I have ever seen! He also timed our visit to the cathedral to catch a lovely pipe organ concert, & found us a nice restaurant along the river with seating outdoors to enjoy the view of Porto from Gaia for lunch. He even ran in to ask the port staff to bring a wheelchair for my mom to board the ship after our tour. Thank you for a wonderful visit, Ricardo!
Antonio was a very knowledgeable and fun guide, which ensured as complete a tour of the city as possible in the time allotted. Well worth the time and expense, a memorable day exploring. Would recommend this tour and our guide.
Amazing day with Antonio in Porto. He was flexible with the schedule and showed us the city beyond just the tourist spots. I would highly recommend this tour and our guide, Antonio. He treated us like friends. This day was a highlight of our trip.
We requested some changes to the original script and were immediately addressed by Hugo Gonçalves, the company. Almost all the tours were made on foot, except for the Foz do Douro and the Villa de Gaia (esplanade and restaurants). We have the impeccable assistance of Hugo Araújo, extremely polite Guide and acquainted with the charming city of Porto. Congratulations to Walkborder!
We booked 5 tours over the 7 days in Portugal, by far Ricardo Casais was our favorite guide. Beautiful Mercedes and took us on a 9 hour journey from Porto to Lisbon, and would stop wherever we wanted to. Ricardo knew when to converse, and knew when to let us nap, Truly a professional who knows how to treat people with respect and friendliness.
My wife, daughter, and I had an unforgettable experience on the Private Oporto Tour in April 2023, organized by Portugal Premium Tours and led by the fantastic guide Filipa Rodrigues. We highly recommend her expertise and enthusiasm. Embarking on an 8-hour private tour with Filipa added an extra layer of richness to our experience. The extended duration allowed us to delve deeper into Oporto's charm, savoring every moment with her expertise. Filipa's personalized insights and anecdotes brought each destination to life, creating a tailored and immersive adventure. The extended visit to the Port Wine Cellar and the boat trip on the Douro River became more than just attractions; they became cherished memories. The luxury of having an exclusive and specialized guide/driver in a Mercedes vehicle ensured a seamless and comfortable exploration of Oporto's wonders. Our heartfelt recommendation goes to Filipa and the unparalleled advantages of an 8-hour private tour for an unforgettable journey.
