We had an enjoyable time. Our driver, Puscal was very professional and got us there through busy traffic. We saw a lot of shrines and temples. He waited patiently. We had a great Ramen lunch. We were lucky we saw the colors of the trees changing when we visited the nearby Lake. Van was clean and nice. My wife fell asleep on the way home. Puscal spoke English very well.
Thank you for your kind review! We're so glad you had a pleasant day with Puskal and enjoyed the beautiful sights, autumn colors, and ramen lunch. Happy to know the ride was comfortable too.
Fabulous excursion. Our driver/guide, Areeb, was very friendly and helpful. His explanations gave added flavor to the wonderful sites and scenery. Would highly recommend this trip.
Beautiful scenery!! Ahmed our driver and guide was excellent. He was personable and adapted to our interests and needs. Because it was a holiday weekend the traffic was very heavy and therefore it took 4 hours to drive back to our hotel. He got us back safely after a long day. He made our tour special.
We had a wonderful time. Our guide Haseeb was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful and ensured we had what we needed the entire time. Nikko is very beautiful and well worth your time.
Ahamed took us to Nikko and the surrounding areas. He’s friendly and courteous and we had a great conversation along our trip back and forth to Nikko! He helped us with scheduling our time at each site so that we were to able to see all the places we asked to go around Nikko. A great trip.
What a fabulous trip we had in Nikko! My family and I are grateful. Although it was raining, we were able to see everything the itinerary said plus extra. Most of all, our guide Mr. Khan did a fabulous job in guiding us for the entire trip. Not only he shared his knowledge about Nikko, he also took pictures for us and treated us like family. Awesome trip! We can never thank you enough Mr. Khan. We are also thankful to TripAdvisor/Viator for this amazing trip! You are highly recommended!
We had an amazing day with many beautiful sites. Driver (Khan) was fantastic and very accommodating. Nikko is a site to behold. Highly recommend.
We loved seeing the natural beauty of Japan. The historic sites of the temple were outstanding and have huge cultural significance. Our driver was fantastic and drove under very difficult conditions of heavy rain on the way to Nikko. Thanks for looking after us.
Pleasant trip in spite of some traffic. Zia was a friendly and good driver. Very comfortable and clean minivan. Offered water. Helped us get tickets and took some nice pictures of our group
The driver drove safely and had a comfortable car. The problem is with the description of the event/service, hence 3 stars. The terms "guide" and 'english speaking guide" means that they actually guide you through each location/temple and relay information about each. This is not the case. He is just a driver, who has been driving/touring for 6 months. Also, he is not a local of Japan, and while that might not matter, as a guide in a country, I think it does. If you have done a ton of research and know exactly what you need to see and why, this driver will get you there safely. For us, we did only minimum research, so we were disappointed not to have a knowledgeable guide. I asked about the tree species we passed on the 3 hour drive, and he said, 'yes, these are trees.". One occasion, he parked at one temple and said, "when you exit the first building make sure to go to the one behind it. There is another temple". We went to the building behind, but in fact we were meant to walk around the corner down a long gravel path to the mega amazing Toshogu shrine, which we almost missed and def spent less time in it because we spent too much time at the Rinnoji temple not knowing what we should prioritize. The Toshogu shrine to me read like their Lincoln memorial, in terms of importance. That priority was not communicated or "guided".
