There’s a lot about this trip that is not in the operator’s control - the traffic, the line for the boat, an elevator out of order for leaving the falls. So know up front that it may be 9pm by the time you get home. David and Don were our guides. They were forced to pick up a straggler who arrived at the wrong location. I emailed management and they said they are aware. From the reviews, it looks like this is a common issue. But the trip itself was great. Very good transportation with interesting narration. Loved having everything taken care of in advance. Pro tip - if you arrive at NOTL late, go to the gyro spot for a quick dinner.
We had a mutual pick up spot in the city of Toronto right next to Tim Horton's. The Niagara Falls tour Journey behind the Falls was very good. The closest spot to see the falls without being on a boat with a crowd of people. After a nice walk around the falls park we got on the bus for a short drive to Niagara on the Lake town to see the sights & walk in the park. This is where it got messed up as the driver had a time to depart and four people did not return. We delayed our take off almost 30 minutes. The guide couldn't get the people's phone numbers cause the tour office in Toronto was closed. So we went on to the winery. Tried 5 different wines including the Ice wine which is very sweet. A very nice store at this winery. The drive back into the city was longer than expected due to traffic delays but we returned safely. Driver & guide were very nice.
We were switched to an earlier pick-up time less than 24hrs beforehand, first over two hours earlier but later 75 minutes earlier. This was frustrating as we had booked the later departure time specifically because we weren't going to arrive at our hotel until midnight the night before. Once we were at the pick-up point the next morning, we discovered we hadn't just been switched to a different pick-up time, but we had been switched to a different tour at a different tour company. Although the new tour did have an enjoyable guide and it did hit the spots we wanted, there was an additional stop and it arrived back in Toronto 90 mins later at 9:00pm, causing us to rush to our cocktail bar reservations. Beware that the schedule could change with short notice.
This was a great experience, going to the Falls, then having the option to enhance your trip with a Niagara City boat tour. We then drove to Niagara at the lake wineries, which Bella Tierra has amazing ice wine and was very welcoming and friendly. You finish your trip by having time in the cute town of Niagara at the Lake. My family and I really enjoyed the length of the trip and everything that is included. Would definitely recommend and do it again. Additionally our tour guide was very informative with some fun facts throughout the journey. While this was a wonderful way to see the falls and we really enjoyed our time, I’m not rating a 5 because there was some miscommunication between those who chose to enhance their trip (Queen Elizabeth luncheon and/or Boat tour) versus those who didn’t, I feel like those who didn’t could of just explored more of Niagara city rather than ‘checking in with the bus tour’ as they weren’t participating in the other activities.
We were in Toronto for a few days and could not miss going to Niagra Falls ! The coach arrived on time at the agreed pickup point and we were met by Don the Driver and Nicky the guide what a lovely warm welcome! Nicky was very professional and knew her history of all the sightseeing spots along the way and even added a little humour along the way. Dons driving was ace and we felt very safe on the coach the whole day from start to finish was a memorable experience and would definitely recommend TBCL
A wonderful day of touring the Niagara area of Canada. Our tour guide, Dave was exceptional in his knowledge of the area. Along with his driver, Jason, they made the trip rememberable.
Nikki and Frank were great! Nikki provided tons of information about the surrounding areas as we passed. Her energy and organization made for a lovely experience. Niagara Falls, Lunch at the Victoria Place, Wine Tasting and Niagara by the Lake shopping. A must do!
The tour was very informative. I would recommend that most people get the package with lunch and journey behind the wall to get the full experience. Jacob was a great tour guide and also gave good recommendations about what to do around the city of Toronto after the tour concluded.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear that you found the tour informative and that you enjoyed the full experience with the lunch package and Journey Behind the Falls. It’s great to know that Jacob made such a positive impact—he’ll be happy to hear your shoutout! Thanks again for your recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back for another adventure in the future! Kind regards, TBCL
It really is a worthwhile trip from Toronto. For us the weather was excellent, too, clear sky and sunny the whole day. The bus was good but the driver, Mr Andrew Graham, made everything far more enjoyable. He knows a lot about Toronto and all the areas around, his geography and history knowledge is very impressive. We learned in 1 day a lot more about the city and about Niagara Falls than we knew from school or personal reading. The Falls are far more impressive in reality than in any movie or video we had watched. The stop at the winery on the way back was also a big plus. Everything was well organized but again, having a good guide makes a difference. In the summer it would be probably even nicer as the option for the boat ride is open, which wasn't the case now, due to the weather. However, winter has its own pluses and offers unique views. All in all, this day tour is worth the time and the money.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review! We’re delighted to hear that you had a worthwhile and enjoyable trip from Toronto, especially with such beautiful weather to complement the experience. It’s wonderful to know that Andrew made such a positive impact—his passion for sharing the history and geography of the region truly makes each tour special. We’re also glad you found Niagara Falls even more impressive in person and enjoyed the winery stop along the way. You’re absolutely right—each season offers its own unique perspective, and we’re happy you were able to appreciate the beauty of a winter visit. Thank you again for your kind words about the organization of the tour. It means a lot to us. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future—perhaps next time with a summer boat ride included!
