Guidiamo per circa 30 minuti. alla nostra prima tappa è la casa della Vergine Maria. La Casa della Vergine Maria si trova sulle montagne di Aladag, a 5 miglia da Efeso. Al terzo Concilio ecumenico del 431 d.C. a Efeso, si affermò che Maria venne ad Efeso con San Giovanni nel 37 d.C. e vi visse fino alla sua morte nel 48 d. C. Dopo la scoperta della casa, l'arcivescovo di Izmir dichiarò che lì luogo di pellegrinaggio nel 1892. Il 26 luglio 1967, papa Paolo VI visitò questo luogo e pregò lì
Continua il nostro tour con la nostra seconda tappa Ephesus Ancient City. Inizieremo a visitare uno dei punti salienti della Turchia, Efeso, una delle 12 città della Lega Ionica (un antico distretto greco sulla costa occidentale dell'Asia Minore) che si trova vicino a Izmir. Come città portuale era un importante punto di partenza per le rotte commerciali in Asia Minore. Passeggia nella storia lungo strade di marmo fiancheggiate da meravigliosi edifici pubblici, tra cui le Terme di Scolastica, la Biblioteca di Celso; fu costruito all'inizio del II secolo d.C. da Gaio Giulio Aquila per essere un memoriale di suo padre Gaio Giulio Celso Polemanus, il proconsole della Provincia dell'Asia. , il Tempio di Adriano e il Grand Theatre sono due degli edifici più impressionanti di Efeso. Il grande teatro fu costruito nel III secolo a.C. e fu successivamente ampliato a 24.000 spettatori dai Romani nel I secolo d.C.

Queste case furono abitate da ricchi cittadini di Efeso. Queste case erano decorate in modo molto fantasioso con affreschi murali e mosaici pavimentali. Ci sono molti gradini per salire dal basso verso l'alto. Non raccomandato per persone con difficoltà motorie e acrofobia (paura dell'altezza).

The tour was interesting but we didn't get off to a very good start as I had the tour leaving at 8:00 and it didn't leave until 9:00. Viator claimed I received an email even though I did not. At the end of our tour our guide took us to shops (rugs, purses) that we felt were inappropriate. Almost like she was going to get a kick back if we bought something.

The entire tour was incredible- beginning to end. Our guide Fusun was friendly, informative, and great with everyone in our party from 6 yr old to adults. The van was clean, comfortable, and modern. Our driver was also very good. Loved seeing everything from Ephasus to the Terrace Houses (DO NOT MISS THIS)! And we ended the tour with a lovely farm to table lunch and rug-making demonstration. Highly recommend!!
Ershan our guide was really amazing, informative and entertaining. He is very knowledgeable around the history of the sites and was so kind to share with us his culture and history. We really enjoyed our experience especially since its our first time in Turkiye and we’re only there very briefly. Would definitely recommend him as your guide !

Was highly impressed with our guide! And our Driver! We had a full day, exploring the ancient city along with some great shopping and food! Probably the highlight of our time in Turkey. Cankat (our guide) was phenomenal. Highly recommend..
It was a fantastic trip. We had Nahide as our guide. I dont think a better guide exists honestly. She was very informed and is a super sweet lady. She spoke great English. She gave us plenty of time to take photos and explore, explaining everything to us before letting us explore and giving us frequent meet up points. I cannot recommend this enough. Also, they were very easy to find walking off our ship. Didn't even have to try to find them.
Melih was our guide for this tour, and Sergei was our driver - both did an outstanding job, providing us with a safe and entertaining tour. Melih clearly loves his country, and its history - his information was both educational and entertaining. Sergei was a good and safe driver, providing us with smooth transportation. Mere (our guide) was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and interesting along with a great sense of humor. His knowledge of history, archeology, mythology and his love of Turkey was epic. Tour guide was easy to find at cruise terminal, even with 4 big ships arriving at the same time. Ben was our tour guide. Had an amazing experience. Very knowledgeable and informative throughout the day. He gave us paper to write a wish at the Virgin Mary house. We also stopped at a carpet workshop on the way back which we found quite interesting. We did not feel obligated to buy anything. Thanks Ben for a great day and the laughs!

Our guide (Melih), and our driver (Sergei) gave us a comprehensive and interesting tour of Mary’s House and Ephesus - we were super happy with the feel of the tour and the detail of the information that Melih shared with us.
