We had a great experience at Mutianyu Great Wall. The buffet lunch was a big highlight, offering a great selection of savory dishes, side foods and beverages with great taste and variety. There were some crowds of holiday tourists, resulting in some waiting times for the cable car. Fortunately, the cloudy weather relieved tiredness while walking in the morning. We got practical travel tips, route guidance and pre-booked tickets in advance. Guide John’s careful arrangements and thoughtful service were truly impressive and greatly appreciated by our whole group.

Guide John offered great support for our Mutianyu Great Wall tour. He gave us a brief simple introduction to the wall, then spent more time explaining the self-travel routes and the top spots worth stopping by for nice mountain views. He kindly helped all of us get cable car and luge tickets in advance to skip ticket lines. Countless holiday visitors came to the scenic spot, which meant long waiting times for the toboggan slide. Fortunately, the weather remained cloudy and cool for climbing. John’s warm, attentive help created a wonderful and hassle-free travel experience for our group.

You can find the gathering area just outside Metro Exit B, where red-uniformed Mubus staff stand by, with breakfast shops and washrooms within dozens of meters. Remember to get everything ready before signing in with guide—you won’t be allowed to depart afterward. John is an outstanding guide with flawless English and thorough Great Wall historical knowledge. He simplified confusing historical facts well, and we got our cable car tickets from him at official prices, skipping long ticket lines at the scenic spot smoothly.

Mutianyu Great Wall boasts stunning scenery: the huge wall runs over continuous steep mountains, creating spectacular views for every visitor. Guide John delivered an excellent tour service with fluent English and in-depth historical background of the wall, turning hard historical content into plain, easy stories. We could buy toboggan and cable car tickets directly from him at the same cost as official counters. Mubus’s second-floor buffet offers a wide range of food, including fresh watermelon and pizza to fill us up before climbing the wall.
