Montego Bay Sightseeing and Shopping Tour

We had a great day. Did a tour of Rose Hall which was so interesting. Looked at a few houses in the more pricey neighborhood. Stopped for a little shopping then a drink at Usain Bolt’s bar. Drove by the Hip Strip then back to our Resort. Our driver answered all of our questions, was very helpful and friendly.

Robert was our driver and private tour guide. He was friendly and knowledgeable. Duration of trip was perfect. Highly recommend.

Trip was fun, the drivers are total nuts, I can't see how people drive with no regard for other people. It took me a full day to calm my nerves down.

<p>Our guide was assigned to us after we disembarked and our planned tour had seemingly fallen through during our October 2016 Carnival cruise. I don't not usually like to use the excursions/tours set up by the boat ... I set them up myself. The people at the information desk/tourist desk inside the port terminal were so very friendly and were able to make phone calls and locate our tour company. Our driver arrived with a comfortable vehicle for me and my 87-year-old father. We toured around the area and stopped several times so I could take pics and we could get out of the vehicle. My father was cantankerous and ornery at times, because of his age, but the driver was always helpful and understanding. I would highly recommend this tour for people who wish to see things in the area.</p>

<p>We booked this tour through Viator on Tripadvisor. We chose the 3 hour tour. I also selected to have the group tour but we still ended up with a private tour. When we first booked we were concerned that it stated we should be ready at 9am. We did not want to go that early since most things would not open up that early. I called and spoke to them and was assured that I could schedule a later time when we arrived. This was very easy once we were in Jamaica. Our hotel actually called and verified they could pick us up at 11AM. Our driver was very punctual and very informative. He asked us where we wanted to see but it was our first time in Jamaica. We did not know what there was to see so he drove us around. We went up into the mountains and saw amazing views of mobay. We went through the nicer homes and then back into downtown. It was a Sunday so we saw most stores were closed but people were selling stuff out of their cars in front of all of the closed businesses. It was really interesting to see. Our driver could have taken us anyplace but we had really just arrived and did not know so he made sure we saw many different sights. We had a 3 hour private tour, fully narrated and felt very safe at all times. We stopped at a local souvenir shop and our guide waited for us the entire time. We also asked to stop at a pharmacy and he kept an eye out to make sure we were safe while inside as well. This may not seem like a big deal but we attempted to walk off of the resort alone one day and quickly realized the value of our guide staying with us. When we return to Jamaica next year we will definitely book tours through Viator / tripadvisor again. I give our tour guide 10 stars! Thank you for a great time!!</p>

<p>I have to preface these 5 stars with this. This is not the party bus, but don't get me wrong, our driver could have probably found you the party bus if you are looking for that. This was an extraordinary look at the life in Montego Bay. A great nation full of beautiful people. We did see a few typical touristy location's for good picture's and such, but we also saw some not so typical district's that gave me an even greater appreciation that this nation has for life. I am bad with accents but all and all i was able to understand the driver Thanks Barry!. He answered any question we had and offered additional points about the areas we visited. The Jerk BBQ we ate was very tasty as well. You could eat where you wanted i can imagine, but we choose something local and were pleased. The cost was perfect for our budget as well. When do this trip from the cruise ship, you meet you driver at the terminal, you don't have to leave the gate's on the outside, which is a huge bonus!</p>
