Dreamy Orient - like in a fairy tale

Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva were highlights of a dream trip! Through our tour guide Oybek Ostanov, we were able to experience the history of Uzbekistan, the stories of the people, culture, background, current life and dreams of the people, exciting and very personal. The communication of the country was at the beginning of the 20th. century still Arabic, then Cyrillic and now it has been written in Latin script since independence in 1991. More than 2500 years of history, from Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, Timur or Peter the Great and Lenin are connected with Uzbekistan, but also great physicians and astronomers and Goethe was also fascinated by the country in the West-Eastern Divan. The hospitality, the order, cleanliness, the pleasant restraint at the bazaar and a tasty cuisine make the country a wonderful travel destination! Stories of Apache films that were shot here, to Ali Baba, Aladdin and the Magic Lamp and 1001 Nights came to life here :))

A great Uzbekistan trip with DOCA Tours!

The entire trip was excellently organized, pleasant in pace, and very well structured – with Samarkand as an impressive highlight. From the welcome to the farewell at the airport, the DOCA team organized everything reliably and smoothly. The comfortable transfers, the constant availability, and the personal on-site support were particularly pleasant. The hotels selected by DOCA Tours and the daily organized dinners also contributed significantly to the positive overall impression. The hotels conveyed a lot of local charm, and the staff was friendly and attentive everywhere. The selected restaurants consistently offered very tasty cuisine and beautiful insights into the regional food culture. We would especially like to highlight our tour guide Oybek Ostanov, founder and CEO of DOCA Tours. He speaks perfect German and possesses exceptional expertise. He conveyed historical contexts as well as current political and social topics in an exciting, understandable, and very memorable way. His explanations went far beyond what one usually knows from guidebooks or other information sources, and they particularly enriched the trip for us. Overall, it was a very special, perfectly organized, and extremely informative trip. A big thank you to Oybek Ostanov and the entire DOCA team. We can unreservedly recommend DOCA Tours for a trip to Uzbekistan!

very competent travel company

The owner of Doca Tours is an excellent tour guide; he speaks very good German and is also an author and translator of various books. In Bukhara, he leads guests to an excellent miniature artist whom one would not find on the bazaar alone. His hospitality is wonderful. I still like to remember the wonderful dinner at his house in Samarkand. He is also very caring during border crossings and prepares his guests well for the formalities and main control points.

An unforgettable experience in Uzbekistan

Very good experience in Uzbekistan We took a group trip through Uzbekistan with DOCA TOURS and the truth is that we liked it a lot. It was our first time in Central Asia and we did not know very well what to expect, but it surprised us for the better. We visited Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva. The Registan of Samarkand is impressive and Khiva looks like it was taken from a movie. We also really enjoyed the bazaars and the local food. We tried plov, samsa, and a lot of bread I want to especially highlight Allayor, who is the tour operator for DOCA TOURS. He was attentive to the organization of the trip and always available when we needed something. We had a small change during the trip, but the team resolved it quickly. Our group was international, and we were very surprised that the team could communicate in so many languages: Spanish, Italian, Catalan, Portuguese, German, English, French, Russian, Tajik, and others. For a group with people from different countries, this makes things much easier. I liked that the trip was not just visiting monuments, but also getting to know the markets, trying local food, and seeing a bit of daily life. We take away very good memories of Uzbekistan and hope to return someday to see other parts of the country. Thank you Allayor and thank you to the entire DOCA TOURS team Verónica Sánchez

Uzbek dream, unique, one of a kind, would do it again immediately

Our 12-day journey through Uzbekistan with Doca Tours and our guide Oybek Ostanov was simply extraordinary. Oybek speaks perfect German and has impressive knowledge about the culture, history, and politics of Central Asia – especially, of course, about historical and modern Uzbekistan. For us, the trip was primarily a cultural journey, and thanks to Oybek's exciting stories, his well-founded insights, and his openness to discussions, each day became enriching. There was practically no question that remained unanswered. What truly made this trip special was Oybek himself. We spent twelve days with him, and after a short time, it felt as if he was almost part of the family. His warm, likable, and authentic nature significantly contributed to our feeling comfortable at all times. Another highlight was the culinary experience. Oybek guided us through Uzbek cuisine and took us to authentic restaurants that we would never have found as regular travelers. We dined at the highest level while always experiencing down-to-earth and genuine local cuisine. The entire trip was perfectly organized from start to finish. Oybek and the team from Doca Tours always considered our wishes regarding accommodation, daily planning, and meals, while also paying attention to a reasonable price-performance ratio. We look back on this trip with great gratitude and would travel again with Doca Tours and Oybek at any time. Perhaps next time we will go together to Tajikistan or Turkmenistan. Dear Oybek, thank you very much for these unforgettable twelve days. Our thanks also go to the entire team at Doca Tours. We are very much looking forward to seeing you again – until next time!

Uzbekistan: a fairy tale!

Uzbekistan is a fairy tale, and Nodir even more so. He gave us a dream vacation among madrasas, minarets, fortresses, mountain trekking, nights in desert yurts, and friendly, welcoming people. Thank you, Nodir ❤️❤️❤️

Our small-group tour to Uzbekistan

The three of us traveled with Oybek Ostanov from Doca Tours in February 2026 between Tashkent and Khiva along the historic Silk Road. We came to know and appreciate Oybek not as a traditional tour guide, but more as a personal travel companion. This allowed us to immerse ourselves deeply in the history, religion, culture, landscapes, and cuisine of Uzbekistan and, as a “travel family,” visit places that unfortunately remain inaccessible to larger groups. In February—perhaps not the most popular time to travel, as winter gives way to spring—we experienced the country from a unique perspective: a snow-covered Khiva, the deserted Timur Mausoleum in Samarkand, and a mountain village in the foothills of the Tien Shan. Our conversations with Oybek enriched us and broadened our horizons—the very best one can hope for on a journey! Thank you very much!
