It's a beautiful place to visit. It takes your breath away. Seeing the glacier and waterfalls was a sightseeing treasure.
Kenny was an entertaining and informative tour guide. After arriving, we had two hours to view the Glacier, walk to the waterfall and go to the visitor center. The walk to the waterfall is about a mile but it was incredible.
We had a very cool busdriver. She was so funny and gave us a lot of information.
My husband and I enjoyed the bus ride to and from Mendenhall glacier and nugget falls. The driver was very informative and pleasant to listen to. He pointed out a bear on the side of the road as well. The glacier and falls speak for themselves, very beautiful. The visitor center there was also very informative about the glacier and surrounding areas!
It's really just narrated bus transportation to Mendenhall Glacier park. The driver, Archie's, commentary was fun and interesting information about Juneau. You won't see much wildlife other than bald eagles as a good bit of the drive is on busy highways. As soon as you get to the Glacier park you are dropped off and you're on your own for a couple hours. Walk IMMEDIATELY out the path to Nugget Falls, it's a flat 1 mile walk each way. It does get busy, so early in the day is better. Amazing view of falls and glacier!! On the way back be sure to take the path to "photo point" for more spectacular views. Then stop at the visitor center (entry fee) if interested OR walk several short trails starting across the parking lot and see salmon swimming upstream (if it's the right season). Definately recommend
Alicia was an excellent guide. Pickup was smooth and easy. Great instructions. Saw glacier, waterfall, bears, eagles, and salmon.
Our driver was Archie. He is a native of Alaska. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and the glacier. He shared fascinating details about his tribe and culture as well. Did I mention he was also super funny! Made the tour well worth the money. Had plenty of time for a beautiful hike to the nugget falls.
The meeting tent was easy to find and get to and the bus was comfortable. Our bus driver Archie was hilariously informative and friendly. The visitor center was old and in need of renovations. There were far too many people to accommodate. On a bright note, we did see salmon and a bear up close.
Why did we pay so much? All M&M tours did was drive us up and back. $88per person? We could have got a cab. There was no fee to walk at the glacier, M&M had no guide nor did our $88 pay for park enterance fees. Catch a van

All guests commercial or private are infact required to pay fees for access to the Mendenhall Glacier Recreation Area. Those costs are included in the price of your ticket. Your fare also covers transportation aboard our brand-new luxury motorcoaches, a narrated drive with a local driver/guide, and the significant costs associated with operating permitted commercial transportation in Juneau. This tour is intentionally designed to provide convenient, reliable transportation to and from the glacier while allowing guests to explore the area independently at their own pace. It is not advertised as a guided walking tour at the glacier. We do feel it is important to clarify that the ticket price is not simply an $80 bus ride; it includes the permits, passenger fees, professional staff, commercial transportation, and infrastructure required to operate this service safely and reliably. We appreciate you joining us and are sorry the experience did not feel like a good value for you.
We had an amazing experience at Mendenhall Glacier and hike to Nugget Falls. Our driver, Archie, was an excellent tour guide providing interesting information and stories along the way.
