Inizieremo il tour dalla famosa Cattedrale di Palma, dove inizieremo la nostra passeggiata nella zona, ammirando tutta la meravigliosa architettura e storia che questa gloriosa città ha da offrire!
Passeremo davanti a una delle strutture più famose all'interno della città, "Estatua Es Foner" o "El Hondero" che si traduce in "The Swinger". Questa bella struttura è stata donata dallo scultore Jaume Mir nel 1992. Jaume Mir è stato uno dei più prestigiosi scultori maiorchini del 20° secolo e il suo lavoro e la sua tecnica rigorosa sono rinomati a livello internazionale.
Continueremo a scoprire la "Città Vecchia" di Palma passeggiando attraverso questi splendidi giardini! "S´hort del Rei" che si traduce in "I giardini dei re" situati sotto il Palazzo dell'Almudaina. Nel XIV secolo quest'area aveva un accesso limitato, ed era ricca di alberi da frutto, piante, ortaggi e fiori colorati. L'attuale giardino è stato ristrutturato negli anni '60 dall'architetto Gabriel Alomar. Alomar ha basato la ristrutturazione di questo spazio sui tradizionali giardini andalusi. Oggi il giardino presenta cipressi, fontane e un grande laghetto. Approfitta della fantastica opportunità fotografica qui e cattura alcune immagini che dureranno una vita!
Qui avremo l'opportunità di passeggiare lungo parte delle antiche mura romane costruite a protezione della città tanti anni fa. Da qui godrai di viste spettacolari del Palazzo dell'Almudaina e di altre parti della città!
Una volta scesi dalle mura, ci fermeremo per le foto fuori dalla Cattedrale di Palma (La Seu) e sentiremo come è stato costruito il luogo di culto cattolico romano sul sito di un'antica moschea araba. Quindi, entra per ammirare le sue vetrate circolari e le caratteristiche progettate da Gaudi. Il colorato e spesso controverso artista modernista ha lasciato il segno sul sito e si pensa che la sua accattivante pala d'altare sia il momento clou della cattedrale. Dato che sei nel nostro tour guidato privato, non devi aspettare nelle lunghe code che si accumulano alla cattedrale (molto lunghe!).
Una volta terminato il tour della bellissima cattedrale, potrai ammirare la bellezza del Palazzo Reale dell'Almudaina, che risale al XIV secolo. È la residenza ufficiale delle Loro Maestà il Re e la Regina durante i loro soggiorni a Maiorca. Insieme alla Cattedrale di Palma, costituiscono un punto di riferimento della capitale delle Isole Baleari. Un palazzo che rispecchia gli stili artistici che si sono succeduti nella storia dell'isola.
Mentre continuiamo a passeggiare per il bellissimo centro storico di Palma, incontrerai l'Ayuntamiento de Palma, situato nella Plaza de Cort di Palma. Fu costruito tra il 1649 e il 1680 dagli architetti Pere Bauçá, Miquel Oliver e Bartomeu Calafat. Alcuni degli elementi più notevoli della sua facciata sono il balcone con sette grandi finestre, il Rellotge d'en Figuera (Orologio Figuera) e il Banc del si no fos (Banca di se non lo perdi). L'edificio stesso è stato dichiarato Monumento Storico-Artistico appartenente al Tesoro Artistico Nazionale con decreto del 3 giugno 1931.
Mentre ti godi le viste mozzafiato del centro storico di Palma e dell'architettura storica, tieni d'occhio l'olivo The Cort! Questo albero unico, noto come Olivera de Cort, è stato piantato nel 1999 dalla catena montuosa di Tramuntana, come simbolo di pace e radicamento nella terra. L'Ulivo Cort si trova al centro della piazza, proprio di fronte al municipio. Nonostante il trasloco e la sua età, continua a dare frutti ogni anno.
Questo è per gli amanti dell'arte! Un edificio da non perdere, per le sue caratteristiche. La decorazione stilistica della facciata fino al design degli interni, mostra una forte influenza del modernismo catalano, in particolare alcune delle opere di Gaudí: cogli tutta la sua gloria e tira fuori la telecamera per poter custodire questi momenti per sempre!

Not quite the tour we were expecting. Basically a slow walk to the cathedral not much about palma or the old town really should be called guide to cathedral entrance
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry the tour was not what you expected, but we would like to clarify that this is certainly not simply a “slow walk to the Cathedral”. The tour takes you through Palma’s historic Old Town, with explanations about its history, architecture, monuments and local stories along the way, before continuing inside the Cathedral with skip-the-line entrance. Our guides deliberately make several stops throughout the Old Town to explain what guests are seeing rather than simply walking from one place to another. The Cathedral is one of the main highlights, but it is only part of the experience. We appreciate that you may have expected a different type of tour, but describing it as merely a “guide to cathedral entrance” does not accurately represent the itinerary or the experience provided.

A terrible experience. The tour guide was an irresponsible liar. She specified one meeting place after the tour and free time, but the bus arrived at a different location. We arrived at the meeting point indicated on the map 30 minutes before departure time. All of this company’s buses depart from the same location in Palma de Mallorca. For some reason, our bus left from a completely different place. The tour guide had our phone number but did nothing to contact us and warn us about these changes. Then she simply texted, “You weren’t there—sorry.” I regret the time we wasted… Do you think anyone even apologized on behalf of this company? NO. Think twice before buying tours from them. Wonderful “Spanish service” from this company and its guide.

Really good trip to get an insight into the old town of Palma and a really good understanding of the cathedral. We had Luis as our guide and he was very good with explanations, pace and keeping us in the shade where he could. Would really recommend.
