Dalle morti infuocate alle tombe acquose: in questo tour a piedi del cimitero di 1,5 miglia, intrecciamo ciò che sappiamo dei popoli che hanno vissuto qui per millenni con storie verificabili degli ultimi secoli. Possiamo solo immaginare, sulla base delle letture dei nostri sensitivi e delle inquietanti coincidenze che abbiamo osservato, dove le persone qui prima di noi temevano di camminare e andare in canoa di notte. Ora lo chiamiamo Oregon; "ourigan" era la casa ancestrale di centinaia di migliaia di persone. Hanno lasciato un'oscurità qui, espressa con storie dai primi giorni della nostra storia scritta ai tempi moderni. A partire dai primi disastri, racconteremo storie di fantasmi che abbiamo raccolto, dalle morti infuocate a quelle nelle acque del vicino fiume; dall'autoinflizione alla morte portata dallo stato o alla colpa di un ricco. Il nostro percorso ci porta attraverso il lato est interno, dove si sono verificati più disastri di Portland che in qualsiasi altra parte della città e dove sono sepolti molti dei primi coloni.

Ci incontreremo alla Revolution Hall, un ex liceo che contava molte persone ormai famose che avrebbero condotto vite brillanti ma torturate come ex alunni e hanno subito un tragico incendio un secolo fa.
Cammineremo per le strade tranquille di uno dei quartieri residenziali più antichi di quello che oggi chiamiamo Portland, raccontando storie della prima strega conosciuta di Portland e delle donne che lavoravano nel commercio del sesso; e storie di sedute spiritiche che hanno travolto la città.
Entreremo nel cimitero di Lone Fir vicino alla sezione conosciuta solo come "Block 14", dove sono state sepolte fosse comuni di immigrati cinesi e di coloro che sono morti nel vicino manicomio per pazzi. Dopo aver raccontato alcune delle storie che conosciamo, cammineremo attraverso il cimitero, visitando gli ultimi luoghi di riposo dei residenti di cui abbiamo già sentito storie, nonché alcune delle morti più intense dei residenti; dai drammatici annegamenti agli omicidi con l'ascia ai suicidi.

It was a great tour! I got to learn a lot about Portland in addition to the ghost & cemetery tour! I highly recommend this tour if you want to learn history AND have a spooky good time! The tour guide was also so kind and wonderful!
Loved the approach of history infused with knowledge of psychics and spirits. The neighborhood is so full of stories and the weather was ideal for a ghost tour!
The tour was fascinating, with a lot of information about the city and region and weaving in art, architecture and literature as well as history. I was impressed with her attention to undertold stories as well as excellent retellings of stories I had already learned.
Sarah was engaging and very informative as our hostess and tour guide. We enjoyed the stories and her additional comments about the area. This was not a ghost tour per-say as we had anticipated, which was a little disappointing, but still a fun evening and we learned a lot.
Learning of the history of prominent people and information not commonly known about Oregon and Portland.
I've been on several ghost walking tours and really enjoyed this one. The guide was passionate about both historical research and finding the stories of spirits in her neighborhood. I appreciated her focus on women's stories and the under-represented communities and immigrants.
Great stories! The guide, born and raised in the city, is an obvious devotee of ghost stories and cemetery lore. She infused her stories with her conversations with local ghost observers, historical research, and the spiritual manifestations of the neighborhood and the region. As the cemetery is closed after dark, the tour takes place near sunset, “magic hour,” so our photos were beautiful
Misleading and definitely not worth the price. Inaccurate description of the event, no talk about ghosts just info you can find online about past people from Portland. Incomplete tour due to how bad it went.
Hi there, I’m sorry that you didn’t like the historical ghost tour, but it seems as if you may have read an entirely different tour description as you submitted this review as the same time as you asked for a refund due to “booking wrong tour.” And our description very clearly says you will be learning about historical people in portland. When you left early you told your guides you thought it was a one-hour tour. We do tell stories about historical Portlanders, and you should definitely not book this tour if you don’t like history. (and as you had a trainee along we were able to confirm that your guide did indeed talk quite a lot about ghosts, perhaps you didn’t listen to anything they said?)
We had such a great time learning about the history and the cemetery was very interesting. Our guide was fantastic!
Unusual and deeply respectful take on ghost tours, looking at history and intimate stories from a lens of the tales of marginalized and women’s narratives. I’ve taken a lot of ghost tours and this one was less spooky hauntings but more stories of spirits. Well told.
