Mentre esploriamo il centro storico di Salisburgo durante i tour a piedi, il tour in bicicletta ci porta nella natura intorno a Salisburgo. Percorriamo il più antico viale maestoso dell'Europa centrale e troviamo diversi castelli che nella storia sono stati utilizzati da arcivescovi e nobiltà, prima che servissero come location per le riprese del film. Il Frohnburg è uno dei castelli che costeggiano il percorso verso il castello di Hellbrunn lungo la "Hellbrunner Allee", il vicolo del principe-arcivescovo. Il Frohnburg era il castello utilizzato per la facciata della casa nel film Sound of Music. Oggi appartiene all'Università di Musica di Salisburgo, motivo per cui spesso si sente la musica classica provenire dall'interno.
Il castello di Hellbrunn è il clou dei dintorni di Salisburgo. Hellbrunn è noto soprattutto per le fontane dei trucchi, ma Hellbrunn è anche una tappa in qualsiasi tour di Sound of Music a causa del gazebo della canzone dei sedici diciassette del film. Quando arriviamo a Hellbrunn dopo 5 chilometri di bicicletta, facciamo una breve pausa per vedere il parco, il palazzo dall'esterno e il padiglione, e per bere qualcosa o mangiare se lo desideri.
Leopoldskron, un castello della prima metà del 18° secolo, e il Leopoldskroner Weiher, un lago artificiale creato per il castello, sono stati utilizzati anche in The Sound of Music. Il castello di Leopoldskron è stato utilizzato come retro della casa dove Maria ei bambini erano appesi agli alberi e dove si sono capovolti con la barca. Il castello è ora di proprietà della fondazione americana "Salzburg Global Seminar". Il parco è accessibile solo agli ospiti dell'Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron. Quindi non possiamo visitare direttamente il parco, ma mentre pedaliamo intorno allo stagno abbiamo una splendida vista dall'altro lato.
L'abbazia di Nonnberg non è solo il più antico monastero femminile del mondo, ma era anche l'abbazia del suono della musica. L'Abbazia è vicina al punto d'incontro per il Salzburg Bike Tour. Pertanto, saliremo all'abbazia prima di finire il tour. L'Abbazia di Nonnberg è leggermente sopraelevata e offre un'altra fantastica vista sui dintorni a sud di Salisburgo e sulle Alpi in lontananza. Non possiamo entrare in Abbazia ma possiamo entrare nella chiesa e nel cimitero che vi daranno un'idea di cosa sia il convento.

Our tour with Johannes was a 10/10!!! He was very funny, engaging, knowledgeable and really brought the beautiful city of Salzburg to life!!! HIGHLY recommend this tour :).
This was a huge tick off my bucket list and something I’ve wanted to do since I first visited Salzburg as a poor student 44 years ago ! We opted for the bicycle tour as something a bit idiosyncratic and it lived up to all expectations. We bicycled through the most gorgeous countryside around Salzburg and visited many of the films iconic locations all the while to the accompaniment of the soundtrack with the added fun of group sing a longs ! I know it sounds corny but it was fabulous! Our tour guide Roberta was a complete gem and we enjoyed so many of her stories behind the scenes of SOM and Austria in general Has to be one of my fav days !

Brendan was our guide and he was simply delightful. We had so much fun visiting the Sound of a music sites via bike. The other patrons became friends and it was an amazing tour
This was my favourite tour of Salzburg. So lovely to be out on a bike on a beautiful day. You get to stop at the sound of music sites. Highly recommend
We were not sure about getting a Sound of Music tour since others were booked up. We lucked into talking with Gary, the bartender at our youth hostel, who told about this tour company and that he was leading a bike tour the next day! We were traveling with our two sons, ages 12 and 9. Gary made it super entertaining for the entire group of adults and the boys, including a quick jump into the canal for a cool swim. He was knowledgeable and shared pictures and great stories. The ride was the perfect length of around 2 hours. Also got some wonderful pictures. Thanks Gary!!

Brendan made this trip really fun! We had a nice ride to all of the highlighted locations from the movie, and even a few bonus stops. He gave some great behind-the-scenes information about the movie during the tour as well. You can tell he really appreciates not only the Sound of Music, but the overall culture of Salzburg.

The tour Guide I think his name was Gary or maybe it was Tim, was really enjoyable, had a nice conversation about wildlife really knowledgable guy about hippos funnily enough which are my favourite animal, any ways back to the point i would highly recommend this tour just to get out and see the place, the guide made it excellent touring

Gary from Cork was our guide and he was very helpful and reassuring as I was a little nervous cycling as I hadn't done it in quite a while. He has a huge knowledge on not only The Sound of Music but also the Von Trapp family and he was able to give the answers to whatever questions were thrown at him. It was a fabulous cycle and I was so pleased that I decided to do this...one if the highlights of my holiday in Austria

The tour guide was very informative and engaged throughout the entire tour. The scenery we biked through was absolutely beautiful and I learned a lot! I would totally recommend this experience to anyone!
The meeting spot was a little outside the town and the guide was unsure where the WC was, and that is probably a necessary thing to know. We did find one before we departed but had to find one nearby on our own. There was only one stop i didn't need to see and that was the pink flamingo colony. Other than that tour was great and guide very nice and shared great insights into the movie
