I had a wonderful experience on the Valensole Lavender Fields tour from Marseille and would definitely recommend it. My tour happened during the heat wave, and the team was very proactive in adjusting the itinerary to an evening departure so everyone could enjoy the lavender fields in more comfortable temperatures. I really appreciated how accommodating and customer-focused they were throughout the process. The group was small, which made the experience feel relaxed and well organized. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke English, French, and Italian. He explained the different types of lavender, how essential oil is produced, and shared interesting local recommendations along the way. In addition to the stunning lavender fields, we visited the beautiful village of Valensole, a local olive oil producer, and even stopped by L’Occitane when we had some extra time. The lavender fields were carefully chosen, and arriving during golden hour made for some incredible views and photos, ending the day with a beautiful sunset. Overall, it was a very well-planned tour with excellent customer service, a great guide, and a lovely atmosphere. Thank you for such a memorable day!
Overall, it was an experience. The stay with the first producer was definitely too short. Our guide (Doris?) was unfortunately not fit. However, she still made a great effort. Actually, a different guide was needed... The van, a Ford, had very uncomfortable seats.
Our guide knew many fields to choose from with interesting views. He was very knowledgable about many aspects of the lavender as well. Such a beautiful trip! I would remind those with bee allergies that the fields are always buzzing, they are friendly and keep to themselves though.
Paul did an incredible job as our private tour guide! He truly went above and beyond what we were expecting. He was so well educated, a true gentleman, shared incredibly interesting facts all about Marseille, Provence, art, food, culture, economics, etc. He also allowed for customization of the tour as well. We appreciated his hospitality in taking photos, helping with bags, stopping if we saw something interesting that we wanted to look at, and giving us great book recommendations too. He was the best tour guide we have ever had and I would absolutely recommend this tour! You HAVE to book with Paul!!
Incredible experience! Our tour guide was THE best and knew which fields were the best and most mature. Plus he gave us facts about the city on the way there and pointed out places of interest to visit. 100% best tour!
A great five hour tour with free time at an organic farm who produce lavender, olives and now also wine. More free time had in the town of Valensole, be sure to bring cash as many of the shops have a minimum amount for card payments. So wonderful to see lavender and sunflower fields as well as quaint little French country towns. Truly a dream come true.
The tour guide did an amazing job of explaining everything and the field's were spectacular. It was a very short trip though. May have to book longer version of the tour in the future.
This tour could have been so much better, but felt we lost out big time for what we paid. We understand the original tour guide had a personal emergency so had to leave urgently, but then one couple had to get back early for their onward journey so the rest of us also had to rush back. Why could you not arrange something so the rest of us could get a full tour ?
Dear Heena, guide's husband (young healthy man) died of heart attack while you were starting the tour. Instead of cancelling, in the busiest moment of the season we found and sent you a partner to perform the tour (in addition loosing money compared to simply cancelling the tour). Your group was extremely lucky to even go on a tour on that day! Kind regards, Silvio
I had a wonderful time. The host was awesome , he brought us on different places with different Lavander . Didn’t you know that lavander smells different from place to place ?
The lavender fields were massive and the flowers were at just the right bloom when we were there. It was a surreal experience for me. Simon was a very funny and knowledgeable guide.
