Il monastero di Khor Virap si trova a circa un'ora di auto dalla capitale Yerevan e offre una splendida vista del simbolo che definisce l'Armenia: il maestoso Ararat. "Khor Virap" si traduce come "prigione profonda", ed è stato costruito sul luogo dell'ex prigione reale, situata nel sito storico di Artashat. Era questa stessa prigione in cui tenevano Gregorio l'Illuminatore, il primo cattolico armeno, per 13 anni interi. Pertanto, non sorprende che questo posto sia uno dei luoghi più sacri per gli armeni di tutto il mondo. Allo stesso modo, è anche il punto più vicino al Monte Ararat dall'Armenia; molto spesso questo spot diventa il motivo numero 1 per visitare il nostro paese!
Oltre a Khor Virap, un altro posto da non perdere è Noravank. È uno dei gioielli dell'architettura armena medievale, incastonato in alto tra le splendide scogliere rosso mattone alla fine del Canyon Gnishik. Qui vedrete la sola e unica rappresentazione di Dio Padre in Armenia, che è altrettanto sorprendente come il volto di Gesù Cristo apparso sulla cupola del nartece della Chiesa.

The views is amazing for sure… but without a help of tourist guide and professional driver I could not see and learned how valuable culture and historical of the Armenian Country . I would like to recommend this YERANI TRAVEL AGENCY to Book your Tour Packages to go in another Cities exam .like Jermuk City , if you would like to Travel in Armenia , coz u will have an amazing and very helpful Tour Guide , her name is NARE or NARI shes very Good in English and Russian . I really liked her , She’s Very Kind, and lovely. Because of her , i would like to learned Armenian language and Visit again here in Armenia. The locals here is no Nice.
