Il Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park è un vero paradiso segreto dove le farfalle danzano con nonchalance in ciuffi di felci tra bellissimi fiori profumati e viti in fiore. Dalle parole del programma di fama internazionale Discovery Channel, in un'intervista e trasmessa a oltre 200 milioni di telespettatori in tutto il mondo, dice "di tutti i parchi delle farfalle del mondo, nessuno può essere paragonato a questo". Tour gratuito della città: TUGU NEGARA (MONUMENTO NAZIONALE), SULTAN ABDUL SAMAD BUILDING, MASJID JAMEK e DATARAN MERDEKA (MERDEKA SQUARE).

10:00 incontra e saluta il nostro amichevole autista che parla inglese nella hall dell'hotel e procedi per il tuo tour. Verrai prelevato dal tuo hotel in un veicolo con aria condizionata e farai un tour attraverso la città di Kuala Lumpur. Il parco è bellissimo paesaggistico con miriadi di vegetazione lussureggiante e fiori colorati. C'è anche un vivaio e un'area di allevamento dove è possibile vedere le larve di farfalle che emergono come farfalle dai loro bozzoli. Oltre a queste farfalle di vari colori e dimensioni, ci sono anche insetti in mostra. Tra gli insetti esposti ci sono gli scarabei rinoceronte e le mantidi religiose. Il parco cerca di imitare il più possibile le foreste tropicali, che sono l'habitat naturale delle sue farfalle. Anche la rete utilizzata per tenere le farfalle all'interno del parco ha un'altezza che fornisce un'area di volo sufficiente per far volare queste bellissime creature.
Ora iniziamo il tour culturale gratuito della città: TUGU NEGARA (MONUMENTO NAZIONALE), SULTAN ABDUL SAMAD BUILDING, MASJID JAMEK e DATARAN MERDEKA (PIAZZA MERDEKA). TUGU NEGARA (MONUMENTO NAZIONALE) Affacciato sui giardini del lago KL, l'enorme monumento in bronzo fu costruito per rendere omaggio ai soldati che diedero la vita per difendere il paese durante l'insurrezione comunista degli anni '50. Il monumento nazionale è stato progettato da Felix de Weldon, l'architetto del famoso memoriale di Iwo Jima
SULTAN ABDUL SAMAD BUILDING Sultan Abdul Samad Costruire nel 1897, una delle attrazioni più durevoli della città, si dice che l'edificio sia stato il più raffinato negli stati malesi. Presenta un portico imponente, graziosi archi a ferro di cavallo, cupole in rame lucido e una torre dell'orologio di 41,2 metri. Il piano terra di questo edificio ospita un centro di informazione turistica.
MASJID JAMEK Costruito nel 1909, Masjid Jamek è la moschea superstite più antica della città. Presenta elementi di design ispirati all'architettura Mogul I Northern India. Cupole e minareti superano le mura di mattoni e i colonnati ad arco, mentre una cupola di 70 piedi sovrasta la sala delle preghiere. Questa moschea occupa una posizione storica alla confluenza dei fiumi Klang e Gombak, che è il luogo di nascita di Kuala Lumpur.
DATARAN MERDEKA (PIAZZA MERDEKA) Dataran Merdeka è uno dei più importanti siti storici della città. L'Union Jack fu abbassato per contrassegnare l'indipendenza del paese dal dominio coloniale. Da qui il nome dataran Merdeka, che significa "Piazza dell'Indipendenza". Le attività nella zona includono passeggiate guidate gratuite del patrimonio e tour di KL ByCycle. La fine del tour ritorna al tuo hotel in un veicolo con aria condizionata.

Not worth visiting. Very few butterfly's and in need of serious upgrade as the paths and steps were dangerous in parts. Apparently it doesn't get many visitors and I can see why
Thoroughly disappointing, $10AUD for what seemed like 20 mins of rundown gardens, some dilapated fish tanks and very few butterfly's. Taxidermy at the end end was good as well as the live insect displays. Luckily I did the bird park ( which was fantastic) first and then walked down to the butterfly park last, would've been disappointing if I had done it in reverse. At least it was a spot for a Geab pick up/drop off so I could get the he'll out of there. Also, it's cash only and staff weren't very friendly.

Take time to visit the Butterfly Park while in Kuala Lumpur. Enjoy the variety of butterflies in the middle of the city. They have created a rainforest habitat with a maze of footpaths winding through lush vegetation, across bridges over koi ponds, past waterfalls, gazebos and turtle ponds. They also had a collection of beetles, stick insects and other insects, millipedes, etc. that we checked as well.
There were a few butterflies but not too many. The bigger butterflies were high in the canopy so could not see them It was not so expensive to get in do it was ok

It small but a great experience to see the butterflies up close. Good value for money. Great pictures taken. Very close to the bird park too.
We didn't get the tour advertised. Apparently the operator doesn't have many English speaking drivers, so they sub- contracted it to an individual driver/guide who took us on his own route with 8 or 9 stops including the Butterfly Park. He also made the butterfly stop later in the tour because he said most of the butterfies would still be asleep earlier! Probably far better than the advertised tour!
The butterfly park is very cool and you'll see and probably touch a lot of cool butterflies, but it's also a greenhouse, so prepare to sweat while walking through there.

Doesnt matter if you are a Butterfly enthusiast or not.. This place is streaming with Butterflies.. and they come and sit on you! Also there is a nice museum of insects and snakes on the way out.. so plan for that.. you can spend an easy half an hour there! Well worth the money
