We had an incredible experience on the 5-day Inca Trail, and so much of that was thanks to our guide, Raul Benjamin, and the amazing team. Raul truly took care of us from beginning to end. He was knowledgeable, patient, helpful, and made us feel supported throughout the entire trek. He shared so much about the history and culture along the way and made the experience feel even more special. The porters were absolutely incredible. We have so much respect and appreciation for how hard they worked and how helpful they were every single day. The chef also went above and beyond it was my boyfriend’s birthday during our trek, and somehow he made him an actual birthday cake in the middle of the mountains! It was such a thoughtful surprise and a memory we will never forget. Hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu was already a bucket-list experience, but Raul Benjamin and the entire team made it truly unforgettable. We felt taken care of every step of the way and would absolutely recommend Raul to anyone doing the Inca Trail. Thank you for an amazing 5 days!

Eight of us set out on the 4‑day Inca Trail with Alpaca, and thanks to our incredible guides, Marcio and Joel, we lived a dream we’ll never forget. They encouraged us at every step—keeping us safe, cheering us on, and walking beside us through every challenge. Their team of porters worked tirelessly to ensure we were comfortable and cared for. We were genuinely impressed by the Alpaca team’s skill, experience, and strength, as well as the deep care they showed each of us throughout the trek. Standing in the Andes and seeing Machu Picchu in person felt nothing short of magical. I’m forever grateful to Alpaca, Marcio, Joel, and the entire team for turning this once‑in‑a‑lifetime dream into reality.

Very responsive team throughout the booking process. Clarified any doubts we had. Our tour guides, Marcio and Joel were fabulous. They handled some tough situations calmly and patiently. I lost/dropped my phone on third day of the trek and Marcio took the trouble, went out of his way to look for the phone. Exceptional knowledge about the history of the place and detail oriented execution, in selection of food ( kudos to chef Cicilio). We had not trained enough for a 4-day hike, but were able to successfully finish it with support from both our guides and the porter team.

Exceptional Guides – Marcio and Joel Marcio and Joel were exceptional guides and a major reason our Inca Trail trek was such a successful and memorable experience. Our group consisted of senior hikers, and they took excellent care of us throughout the entire trek. They gave us clear, practical guidance on how to handle the different sections of the trail, including the challenging ascents and descents. They even took the time to adjust our hiking poles to the appropriate lengths for going uphill and downhill—one of many examples of their attention to detail and concern for our safety. Throughout the hike, Marcio and Joel were patient, encouraging, and constantly supportive. They knew when to motivate us, when to adjust the pace, and how to help each person manage the physical challenges of the trail safely and confidently. Most importantly, they were genuinely committed to seeing that everyone in our group succeeded. I sincerely believe their guidance, encouragement, and attentive care played a key role in keeping our group healthy and enabling **every one of us to complete the Inca Trail**. Marcio and Joel are knowledgeable, caring, highly professional guides, and wonderful people to have alongside you on a demanding trek. We are extremely grateful for everything they did for our group and recommend them without hesitation.

An absolutely amazing experience. Our guides Raul and Emerson were informative, helpful, patient and most importantly fun. Everything was handled beautifully from communication-transportation-amenities etc. the food prepared by chef Virgilio was phenomenal and tailored to our dietary needs (celiac). Everyone from the office staff to the porters were exceptional. I have already recommended this company to my family and friends.

We did the Inca Trail, four days, three nights with my husband and two teenage children and had an amazing experience. The food was fantastic and accommodating for allergies and the guides were Elisban and Isaac and were so informative about inkan culture and nature. Highly recommend alpaca expeditions to anyone!

We were really impressed by how wonderfully organized everything was by Rolando and Carlos. They were always there exactly where we needed them, whether at the Ollantaytambo train station or the bus transfer location in Cusco. They are incredibly professional and truly take care of everyone throughout the trip. We also learned so much from them. They shared fascinating stories and information about the history, nature, and everything we were seeing along the way, which made the experience even more enjoyable and meaningful. Everything was exceptionally well organized, from answering all our questions and providing helpful packing and preparation advice, to arranging the airport pickup. Communication was always clear, timely, and reliable, which made the entire trip smooth and stress-free. Our guides were very experienced, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful throughout the trek. Rolando was especially passionate about Inca history, and we learned so much from him along the way. His knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience even more meaningful and enjoyable. Carlos, our assistant guide, was also wonderful — he was so friendly, patient, and always had a smile on his face. Both of them made us feel well taken care of and comfortable throughout the journey. The food was also amazing, with a great balance of nutrition and flavor, and thoughtfully prepared to meet the demands of high-altitude trekking. We had an absolutely incredible experience hiking the Inca Trail with Alpaca Expeditions, and I honestly could not have asked for a better experience. Our main guide, Rolando, was exceptional. His passion for what he does, the mountains and the history of the Inca Trail really came through. He shared so much knowledge along the way, but what made him stand out was the genuine enthusiasm he had for the trail. You could tell that this was much more than just a job for him, and that passion made the experience even more special. Our second guide, Carlos, was also fantastic. He was an excellent pacer and made sure that everyone was comfortable and doing okay throughout the trek. Both guides were incredibly attentive, particularly when it came to the slower members of the group. Nobody was left behind, and we always felt supported. And then there was our chef, Armando! The food was EXCELLENT. We honestly couldn't believe the variety and the amount of effort that went into every meal. The presentation was amazing, but more importantly, the food tasted just as good as it looked. After a long day of hiking, having such delicious and beautifully prepared meals was a real highlight. Everything was incredibly well organised, from the logistics to the guides, food and camps. We always felt that we were in good hands. Another major reason we chose Alpaca Expeditions was because they are a Peruvian-owned company and have projects that support local communities. We particularly liked their women's empowerment project, which helps women become guides, porters and chefs. Knowing that our money was supporting these initiatives made choosing the company even more meaningful. Overall, this was an unforgettable experience, made even better by an incredible team. Rolando, Carlos and Armando were fantastic, and we are so grateful for all the hard work that went into making our Inca Trail trek so special.
