Itinerario
Partiamo dal quartiere storico di Roma, chiamato Borgo. La guida farà un'introduzione alla Città del Vaticano e ti mostrerà i passaggi segreti del Papa.
Piazza San Pietro è uno dei luoghi più famosi (e certamente uno dei più sacri!) del mondo. Fu progettato nel XVII secolo da Gian Lorenzo Bernini, che all'epoca era conosciuto come l'architetto più abile a Roma. Papa Alessandro VIII, committente della piazza, chiese al Bernini di sottolineare l'importanza di San Pietro come “porta del Paradiso” e l'architetto attuò splendidamente la richiesta. Divise la piazza in un'area trapezoidale più piccola adiacente alla Basilica e una parte principale ovale, che insieme creano una pianta a forma di un gigantesco buco della serratura.
La vista dalla cima della Cupola di San Pietro è salutata in lungo e in largo come il miglior panorama di Roma. Da queste altezze potrete anche contemplare l'intera Città del Vaticano, con i suoi splendidi giardini. Questo è 360° di pura magia mentre la Città Eterna si estende fino alle colline oltre, e la tua guida ti aiuterà a individuare molti famosi tetti e cupole, dal Pantheon, a Castel Sant'Angelo e altro ancora.
Conosciuto con un certo numero di nomi, Cripte Vaticane, Grotte Vaticane, o le accattivanti 'Vatacombe', questo è l'enorme cimitero sotterraneo sotto San Pietro che ospita le tombe consacrate di vari papi, martiri, re e altri fedeli che la chiesa centrale nel cattolicesimo ha collezionato nel corso dei suoi millenni di storia. Si possono anche vedere alcune colonne dell'originale Basilica di San Pietro costruita dall'imperatore Costantino nel IV secolo d.C.

When my wife and I were planning our "bucket list" trip to Rome the top of our to do list was a visit to The Vatican. Having looked at many options for guided tours we came across the What a Life Tours "Best of the Best " 3 hour small group tour which seemed to fit everything we wanted to do - skip the queues, visit the Vatican museums, the Sistine Chapel and St Peters Basilica. Elaine, our friendly and amusing guide, shared her wide ranging knowledge of the Vatican's history and treasures in a way that was informative without being overpowering, all the time guiding us through the crowds and getting us to the most advantageous viewing points to fully appreciate the splendour and intricacies of the architecture, artwork and sculptures of all 3 buildings. Edward (DoDo). Was excellent. He was friendly and very knowledgeable. He was on time. We beat the queues with the tour starting at 8.30am. I get bored very quickly but he kept us engaged throughout. Thank you and hope to book again soon. Highly recommended.

Eduardo was a fantastic guide for our family of four including two older teenagers. He was knowledgeable, interesting and easy to deal with. We had an 8.30am timeslot to beat the crowds which I would highly recommend.

Our tour was canceled right when our group was ready to leave. It was frustrating and certainly messed up our travel schedule, but the company did issue a refund the next day.
Marcello Moghbel was a fantastic guide. The tour was perfect. His knowledge of the Area was impressive. Keep in mind there are a lot of steps.
