very fun experience if you want to try something new. you get to go to an island, they feed you lunch and the open bar is awesome. the crew was super fun too. definitely would recommend if it’s your first time in puerto rico!!! we were staying in san juan though so it was about an hour drive & waking up at 5am definitely was not fun but it was worth it in the end and you get back by 2pm so 3pm if you uber and still have time to do things in the afternoon
Great experience. Great staff. Boat was amazing clean with professional crew and service. Our group was bored with the activity on the island.
Worth itttt. Best thing I did in Puerto rico. I highly recommend this and it’s worth the price. Very much happy with this excursion.
Here is the scoop. If they had not advertised it as “snorkeling“ it would’ve been a much better situation. If they had said “sailing to icacos island and spend the day relaxing, floating, and drinking” then that would’ve been more accurate. We just heard so many people complaining that it wasn’t really snorkeling. And, we brought our own snorkeling gear, and when we tried to go out a bit further to snorkel they said we could not go past the ropes. So basically we saw zero fish. Zero turtles. Zero coral. Nada. All that said, so many other elements were good. But a lot of people were complaining about false advertising. They also would not let us explore the island. I have no idea why. Every time we tried to go to the island they would tell us we could not walk around on it. With no explanation. It was rather odd. The food was excellent. Especially the sauces. The pick up was perfect. And easy. The boat itself was clean and well staffed. The drinks were plentiful and boozy. The boat staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The slide was a lot of fun. The swing was nice. They had lots of floats to play with. So, if they had billed this as a different excursion, highlighting the floats and the booze and swimming in crystal Clear water, then that would have been very different. But… We have lived on boats. And we are accustomed to Crystal Clear water and so we thought that this would be more of an active excursion with snorkeling and that we would have the opportunity to go on the island. A lot of people were thrilled with the opportunity to be able to swim in such pretty water all day, but again, several people were saying that they were bored, because they thought that we would be snorkeling or going to another location. So if they could update their information to say that we will be stopping outside of an island all day and just floating and drinking, that would be more accurate!
We booked this trip with the expectation it’d be more “Luxury” it was basic straightforward boat ride to the island . Not much excitement from the staff, they were fine just serious. The only included drink was rum punch fyi and they don’t offer you anything upon arrival and don’t serve till “after snorkeling” too many rules and then the inconvenience of being asked to get up and meet in the central part of boat before exit for a tip announcement was bizarre and slightly distasteful. The food was great though but wouldn’t recommend this tour for a girls trip.

For safety, alcoholic beverages are served only after the snorkeling portion of the excursion. This allows guests to enter the water fully alert, follow the crew’s instructions, and enjoy the marine life safely—with the fish appearing exactly the right size and color. Non-alcoholic refreshments are available during the earlier portion of the experience; however, we recognize that a welcome beverage and clearer communication upon boarding would have made your arrival feel more thoughtful. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the number of instructions and the end-of-trip gratuity announcement. Safety briefings are required, but they should be delivered graciously and without diminishing the relaxed atmosphere. Likewise, any gratuity communication should feel discreet and never make a guest uncomfortable. We will review how this is presented. We are sorry this experience did not feel like the right fit for your girls’ trip. Your feedback is valuable and will help us strengthen the hospitality, communication, and overall sense of occasion that guests should expect from Sail Getaways.
What a memorable trip we had! Jonathan and El Capitan were our favorites, but the entire crew was absolutely amazing. The trips to and from Icacos were quick and easy. The crew was incredibly courteous and kept us hydrated. The food served for lunch was delicious. Lots of options to lounge, swim or explore the island once docked. Would highly recommend Sail Getaways!

Great excursion! We arrived around 8am to check in and there was already a line of people ahead of us, definitely heed their warnings about the check in time, they run a tight ship! The guys on the catamaran were friendly enough, bathroom was clean and well-stocked, there appeared to be a sufficient amount of life vests available. Lunch was good and the drinks were decent, best part was swimming once we docked, the water was crystal clear with gentle waves. Pretty chill experience overall, most of the attendees were adults between 20-50 with a handful of outliers.

Great day at Icacos with Getaway Sails. The tour ran smoothly. The boat was spacious, clean and safe. The staff was very nice and supportive. The food was delish. My only grievance is that the only alcoholic beverage offered was Rum. Any other alcoholic beverage offered was at an additional charge.

This was such a fun experience and definitely the highlight of our trip! The crew were so fun and entertaining and went above and beyond serving us drinks and food. I wouldn’t change anything about the trip. Music was great and the island was gorgeous! The food was surprisingly delicious and the drinks were great too.

Amazing experience!! The crew was so sweet and attentive. They really made sure we had everything we needed and checked in on us throughout the trip.
