I enjoyed the difference between the two cities. The day was well organized, and the guide made the drive between them fun by telling intriguing stories and making local recommendations. There was enough time to meander about, look through a few local shops, and even stop for gelato before moving on.
It was super easy to book three different excursions that were all highly rated and very cost effective versus the excursions offered by the cruise line. I book all three excursions with confidence since I've used them in the past on many other excursions. One time, I had to cancel the excursion and the process of getting our refund was seamless.
1st of all we did not get the what's app message telling us to get a shuttle bus to the main Square in Livorno. To get picked up. Connectivity on a large cruise ship can be tricky. So got charged €25 in a taxi to get to the chaotic meeting point and had to phone and locate our tour operator. As it was just full of tour operators, 1000's of people and coaches. A tricky start to a pricey excursion. I had ran out of water on the long coach journey. On getting to Florence the walk to town did not allow a chance to buy water . By the time we got to the heart of the city it was hard to keep up. Keep your wits about you and stay with the group. It is a very busy place, burning hot and quite stressy . The sights are great to see as you would expect. However I felt disappointed with the experience and had the worst meal of my 2. Week holiday. (Mozzarella salad ) dry as a bone! We trecked back to pick up the bus. I have never been so glad to see a coach.. We would have skipped Pisa by this point if we had a choice. As it was just such a long day. It was very underwhelming. And to top it all, we got dropped back at our ship as did other passengers from a different cruise company. Why could we not have got picked up in the morning?? Can't work that logic out. Definitely not great trip and not worth the price.

We simply instructed you to take the port shuttle from the pier, which takes all our guests to the pickup point designated by cruise port officials for all independent tours, including Viator suppliers. Your decision to use a taxi is puzzling to us, but it was your free will. 3. We are not responsible for customers running out of food and beverages during transfers, and we do not supply them. 4. Water is sold all over Florence center, one of the busiest tourist destinations in the world, but some travelling individuals cannot solve this puzzle — buying water. 😊 4. To keep up with the standard group pace, a member should not have any limited walking ability, in accordance with the “Additional Info” section of this tour description. 5. We do not provide any food. Please address your dissatisfaction by Mozzarella salad to the place where you ate. 6. If Florence seemed stressful to you and you wanted to skip Pisa, remaining on the cruise ship was a perfect option always available. When booking future activities with Viator, we highly recommend basing expectations on the tour description, inclusions, and restrictions rather than on personal assumptions. Safe travels.
Visually standing where these historical events took place brought their school textbooks to life in way that nothing else could. The logistics were flawlessly managed, with plenty of cold water on hand and well timed gelato breaks to prevent the kids from getting overwhelmed. It was an inspiring, educational, and completely stress free family experience.

We were a group of friends visiting from a cruise ship and decided on this Florence and Pisa tour from Livorno. The logistics were solid, and we were picked up right outside the port area, which made things easy. Florence felt a bit rushed—we would have liked more time to explore local cafés—but Pisa was more relaxed and gave us enough time for photos and walking around. The guide provided helpful basic info, though not very detailed historical context. Overall, it was a good way to see both cities in a limited time window. Not perfect, but definitely convenient and stress-free for cruise passengers.
Federico, who was born and raised in Florence, was our guide. He had a fast talking, enthusiastic intensity that made you you want to lean in and listen. Federico also oversaw the group flawlessly, setting clear meeting times, keeping a red umbrella visible so we never missed him, and maintaining composure even when two elderly women strayed.
Easy to book with clear joining instructions. Natalie provided so much information on the history and culture of Venice including a light humour and was interesting throughout. The first walking tour that we have done and we are totally converted. Finished just around the corner from the bars and restaurants of Cannaregio which was an added bonus

We booked the Florence and Pisa tour during our cruise stop in Livorno as a family of four, including two kids. Overall, the experience was smooth and well-structured. The timing from the port to both cities was managed carefully, which helped us avoid feeling rushed. In Florence, we had enough time to see key highlights like the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio, though it would have been nice to stay a little longer in some areas. Pisa was more relaxed and straightforward, especially for taking photos at the Leaning Tower. The vehicle was clean and air-conditioned, and the driver was polite but not very talkative. Still, everything worked as expected, and for a short shore excursion, it fit our needs well.
