Imbarcati in un tour di osservazione delle balene e della fauna selvatica di 3 ore per piccoli gruppi da Hoonah, Alaska, nelle nostre navi costruite su misura con cabine riscaldate e servizi igienici. Ogni stagione le megattere vengono in gran numero a Hoonah per nutrirsi delle acque ricche di nutrienti di Glacier Bay e dello Stretto Ghiacciato prima di migrare di nuovo a sud per l'inverno. La popolazione di balene inizia ad arrivare a Hoonah a maggio, e rimane fino a settembre.

SI PREGA DI ARRIVARE 15 MINUTI PRIMA DELLA PARTENZA DEL TOUR, PER CORTESIA VERSO GLI ALTRI PARTIAMO IN TEMPO. Se la tua nave è attraccata all'Ocean Landing Dock, procedi a terra fino all'Icy Strait Adventure Center. Una volta all'interno del Centro Avventura attraversare l'edificio e uscire attraverso la porta numero "2". (Questo è chiaramente segnalato sopra la porta.) Una volta fuori, seguire le indicazioni lungo il sentiero di ghiaia per il centro escursioni. Il tempo totale a piedi dalla nave è di 10 minuti, si prega di consentire tempo extra se non sei un camminatore veloce. Ti chiediamo di effettuare il check-in 15 minuti prima e di partire in orario. Se la tua nave è attraccata al Wilderness Dock, sali sul molo e verso destra. Guida la Green Transporter Gondola (4 minuti di corsa) per l'atterraggio avventura. Uscire dalla Gondola e andare a sinistra, seguire le indicazioni per l'Hub Escursioni. Se non si prende la gondola c'è un sentiero che si può percorrere - è una passeggiata di 1/2 miglio. Come si esce dal bosco iniziare a cercare il cartello che dice Excursion Hub sulla sinistra. Seguire il sentiero ghiaioso fino al Centro Escursioni. Si prega di effettuare il check-in con il rappresentante Hoonah Travel Adventure quando si arriva al Hub! Se arrivate via AK Seaplanes o AK Marine Highway vi preghiamo di chiamarci prima del viaggio per prendere altri accordi.

This excursion was a fantastic experience. While it is on the pricier side, that is to be expected given the location, and it is well worth the cost for the quality of the tour. Our guide was excellent, the group size was perfectly managed, and we saw an incredible number of whales throughout the trip. Highly recommended!
A word of caution if booking this tour. What they neglect to tell you is that the price does not include a return to the excursion center. You are left in town where there is absolutely nothing. You stand in line in the rain for extended times while a couple local shuttles try to return 2 cruise ships of people 38 at a time. Save your money it’s not worth the price.
My wife and I traveled with our friends and booked the whale watching trip. The pick up was easy, the captain and her 1st mate were really friendly and engaging and worked hard to make sure we saw whales. We were fortunate to see both humpback and orcas.
This was a great excursion-small group, very informative, comfortable boat and best of all-whales! A few bears on the shore, sea lions, a sea otter-and whales! Captain Denise and Annaliese, the naturalist on board, made sure to give interesting background, stories and legends of all the places we went to. Everybody involved in getting us where we needed to be was super-friendly and the older fellow that drove us from the excursion center to the dock had good stories to share as well. Besides this excursion we highly recommend the Fisherman's Daughter in Hoonah for milkshakes! If we had time we would have stayed on their patio for a local beer but we'll do that next time. If your weather is nice, like it was for us, definitely walk back to the excursion center along the water, because it's just so beautiful.
Wonderful tour. The operator was reliable, the boat was beautiful, spotless, and comfortable, with plenty of outdoor access and enough space for everyone despite being a medium-sized group. A knowledgeable young lady on board provided interesting explanations about the city, wildlife, orcas, and humpback whales. We were lucky to encounter a group of several orcas, as well as numerous whales. The highlight was seeing a humpback whale breach completely out of the water very close to our boat, an absolutely extraordinary experience! We highly recommend this tour and would gladly do it again.
We had an amazing whale-watching tour with Hoonah Travel Adventures! Captain Denise Gray was professional, warm, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. She was incredibly knowledgeable and shared fascinating information about Hoonah’s history and culture, along with many interesting facts about the local wildlife. Her passion for the area made the experience both exciting and educational. We highly recommend Captain Denise and Hoonah Travel Adventures to anyone visiting Hoonah!
This was one of the most amazing travel experiences you could hope for. Captain Denise was amazing, full of stories and lore of the area, and we were so lucky to see orcas that followed our boat and a humpback whale that breached multiple times right in front of us. Then, a bald eagle was soaring overhead and then dove and caught a fish right next to our boat. Naturalist Annalise was the perfect fit for this tour, and was as excited as we were to see these amazing creatures.
Viator description says water provided. It is not. Bring your own. Boat holds 30 guests, and our group was 30. Saw humpback whales, orcas and otters. Hard to get good photos, because so many crowded to front deck
We saw so many whales . Amazing tour!!! We got so many videos that day. We took a 5 pm tour . We were by the ship before 8 . So it was plenty of time with a 9 pm departure
Comfortable boat with excellent captain and crew member. The stories shared by the captain were entertaining.
