Hallstatt, tour dei laghi e delle montagne austriache

This was the highlight of our trip to Munich and Salzburg. The guide was very informative and interesting. He picked up promptly at our hotel and dropped us off as close as he was able to at end of the tour. Even though it was raining, we made the most of the day with lovely stops in the Austrian towns. Hallstatt was just beautiful!

Wonderful experience. Excellent and knowledgeable guide. He was kind, respectful and resourceful. The group of travellers were a pleasure to be with. The lakes were refreshing and comfortable on such a hot day. Got some amazing pictures. Thank you for the amazing time.

Without a doubt, this was one of the most outstanding tours we’ve ever experienced. The small, intimate group made it feel personal and relaxed, but it was our guide, Fritz, who truly elevated the day. His warmth, kindness, and genuine passion for sharing his knowledge created an experience that was both engaging and effortless from start to finish. The level of service was faultless—thoughtful stops at iconic landmarks, insightful commentary along the way (without giving too much away), and a constant sense that everything had been carefully considered for our enjoyment. Hallstatt itself was nothing short of magical, but the optional cable car ride into the Austrian mountains was a true standout and an absolute must-do. A perfectly paced, beautifully guided tour that we will remember for a very long time.

A full day experiencing Hallstatt and the surrounding areas! Our guide was accommodating and flexible…due to the unexpected high temperatures, we needed to flex our plans a bit and our guide was wonderful! He explained the areas we visited with great detail and was an amazing photographer too! We appreciated his recommendations for food and he was spot on! Would definitely recommend this tour for anyone wanting to see Hallstatt and the surrounding areas!

Hallstatt is such a beautiful area! Our guide picked up from our hotel. And his minivan there were five other people. He did an excellent job of narrating as we drove, not just when we took one route from Salzburg to Hallstatt and took a different route going back, so we got different views in transit. At the town , he gave us a choice of a funicular ride for about 48€ each, then 3 hours in the town, OR 4 hours in the town, where we could optionally purchase a 50-minute boat ride for about 18€ each. We chose the boat ride, which was excellent. Beautiful photographic opportunities everywhere. My only complaint with the town of Hallstatt. Is that almost everyone takes cash only. There seem to be very few ATMs, and the one we found did not work. Since it's such a tourist driven economy, and since people don't take cash, they should provide ATMs every 50 meters! Also suggest that the tour operator should warn people, and perhaps provide an ATM stop before leaving Salzburg. There are two ways to purchase this trip. One is $167 per person. That is the way we did it. There is another option of $560 for a group up to four. Obviously, that would not be good for just two people. I think everyone on our trip was traveling either in couples or solo. There were only seven passengers.

Kind and knowledgeable tour guide. Just a bit pricy, but nice overall.

Good day out from Salzburg to Hallstatt. Highly recommend paying the extra €48 to take the cable car up to the top of five fingers look out. Stunning view of the lake.

Great day with knowledgeable guide Shiva who took us right on time from our hotels in Salzburg to Hallstatt in Austria. The ride was comfortable and along the way Shiva made sure we get all interesting details about places and areas we passed by. While in Hallstatt, we got some free time to roam around and enjoy the little village which is full of tourists from all around. The place can be quite busy and too touristy. Shiva gave us also some tips on where to eat and what to do in our 4 hrs of free time. Way back to Salzburg was different from way in so you get to see different areas including some ski resorts towns. All in all this trip was worthwhile as you get to see this beautiful spot in Austria in a day and don’t have to worry about driving, parking etc. The bonus was our great guide Shiva who was a source of wealth of information and made it to a fun day!
