A Higüey, esplorate il mercato locale, visitate la storica Chiesa di San Dionisio e ammirate la Basilica di Nostra Signora di Altagracia, uno dei principali simboli culturali e religiosi del paese. Ci sarà anche tempo per una breve sosta per acquistare prodotti locali e souvenir. Tutto inizia con il ritiro in hotel per dirigerci alla nostra prima fermata.
La nostra prima tappa sarà la piantagione di caffè e cacao dove potrai vedere il processo di realizzazione di questi prodotti e allo stesso tempo potrai assaggiarlo. Vicino alla piantagione visiteremo una famiglia dove potremo vedere come vivono i locali nella campagna dominicana.
Faremo un tour panoramico del quartiere La Ceiba, un quartiere di lavoratori della zona.
Un'autentica fabbrica dominicana, dove puoi provare a produrre i sigari nell'ambiente originale con gli strumenti originali. Puoi acquistare sigari dominicani e, ovviamente, esiste un'ampia varietà di sigari, da quelli economici a quelli di qualità premium.
Continuando il nostro giro panoramico osserveremo il quartiere di La Otro Banda, uno dei quartieri più frequentati della zona poiché molto vicino alla città.
Dopo la nostra avventura panoramica ti mostreremo il mercato locale di Higūey dove la gente del posto va a comprare beni di prima necessità.
Successivamente, in posizione panoramica, osserveremo la bellissima e grandiosa Chiesa di San Dionisio, questo monumento iniziò ad essere costruito nell'anno 1569 e fu completato nell'anno 1572.
Poi arriveremo al luogo più visitato dai domenicani, la Cattedrale di Nuestra Señora De La Altagracia. La costruzione iniziò nel 1954 e ci sono voluti 17 anni per completarla, lì potremo godere di quella magnifica costruzione, dei suoi splendidi interni e perché no, potremo pregare per qualche minuto.
Poi ritorneremo nella zona di Bávaro, lungo il percorso vedremo le più grandi piantagioni di canna da zucchero.
La nostra ultima fermata sarà in un negozio di articoli da regalo, pittura, gioielleria, ecc.
Infine torneremo nella hall del tuo hotel, Airbnb o casa.

We booked the Half Day Private Tour in Dominican Republic with Local Guide at the last minute, and it turned out to be a great experience. Our guide and driver, Silverio, was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. He made the whole trip enjoyable, never rushed us, and shared interesting information about the local culture, as well as the coffee, cocoa, and tobacco production. Visiting Higüey, the Basilica, and the local market gave us a much better understanding of everyday life in the Dominican Republic. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that we didn't stop at Macao Beach. We only realized afterward, when we checked the tour description again, that a brief stop at the beach was supposed to be part of the itinerary. Overall, it was still a very enjoyable tour, and Silverio did an excellent job. If the beach stop had been included as advertised, it would have been a perfect experience.

An experience that one cannot miss, the private Punta Cana–Higüey City Tour. Edwin Junior, our guide, THE BEST!!! Very knowledgeable about the culture, customs, and the places we visited, the most attentive and helpful. We visited a local coffee and cocoa plantation, where we were able to taste delicious coffee and chocolate; we also learned how they make it and about many customs and other products they make in the area. He took us to buy souvenirs where they served us very well, and we saw the beautiful Cathedral of the Virgin of Altagracia, saw the sugarcane plantations, and closed our tour with a flourish by eating delicious and typical Dominican food. This was a last minute booking that ended up being well worth it. My husband and I wanted our 3 kids (15, 12, 8) to experience parts of the island beyond our resort. Wellington worked diligently with me to ensure that our needs were met. We really appreciated how flexible and willing to accommodate us personalizing the tour. The kids especially enjoyed our ride through the countryside and visiting the organic farm. We had the opportunity to taste and learn about Dominican coffee, chocolate and other delights. I wanted to share what a wonderful guide we had in Dominica. His name is Roger and he worked on this day for InvaderZim Taxi & Tours. I'm not sure if he also works for other companies. Anyway, Roger was amazing, very friendly, informative and professional. He actually hiked with us around the Fresh Water Lake up in the Cloud Forest as well as taking us to other interesting sites - wherever we wanted to go. I highly recommend asking for Roger when you book your day.
This private tour was the highlight of our trip. Edwin was a perfect guide and we loved everything. Our family learned so much about the culture, people, and the real DR! Edwin was also very open to customize the trip to best suit your interests. The plantation was fascinating to learn how chocolate, coffee, and vanilla begins and we even stopped at a small fruit stand to buy some local fruits. It was so refreshing to leave the hotel environment and get to experience some of the real Dominican Republic. Beautiful lush green scenery, our very knowledgeable guide Edwin was amazing and talked to us about many topics and we shared stories about our lives. All of the places we visited showed us more about the livelihood of real people who live on this beautiful island and are trying to make their way and live their lives. Yes we had stops at places to buy tourist souvenirs but hey, who doesn’t want to contribute to the local economy. It was insightful, we felt very safe and enjoyed every minute of our day. Edwin and Abel were wonderful. We rolled cigars, visited a working plantation in the mountains, drove through the crazy traffic in town and visited a bascilica. What an amazing way to spend the morning. Edwin and Abel were excellent sharing their knowledge of the area, politics and the culture. We did the private half day punta cana tour and it was AMAZING!!! The tour surpassed our expectations and ended up being our favorite thing we did on our vacation. Our tour guide was Edwin and he was the sweetest human. He was so knowledgeable. He answered all our questions. From the beginning, he made us feel comfortable. We never felt unsafe.
