Itinerario
Il nostro viaggio inizia ad Andahuaylillas, sede della Chiesa mozzafiato di San Pietro Apostolo – spesso chiamata la “Cappella Sistina d’America”. Costruito nel XVI secolo da missionari gesuiti in cima a un sito sacro Inca, questo tesoro architettonico fonde lo stile barocco spagnolo con il simbolismo andino. Dall'esterno, la sua facciata in mattoni e adobe è modesta. Ma entrate e sarete circondati da altari in foglia d'oro, affreschi vivaci e dipinti intricati che rendono questo uno dei siti religiosi più sorprendenti del Sud America.
Successivamente, esploreremo Raqchi, un notevole sito archeologico Inca e "Miglior villaggio turistico". Il punto culminante qui è il Tempio di Wiracocha - una delle più grandi strutture Inca ancora in piedi. Secondo le antiche cronache, questo grande tempio fu costruito da un imperatore Inca per onorare Wiracocha, il Dio Supremo invisibile del popolo andino, questo enorme tempio era alto 15 metri e mostra la magistrale ingegneria degli Inca. Circondata da antiche rovine e ricca eredità spirituale, Raqchi è un potente passo indietro nel cuore della civiltà Inca.
A metà del viaggio, ci fermeremo per un rilassante pranzo a buffet di 1 ora con il meglio della cucina tradizionale andina. Questo è più di un semplice pasto: è l'occasione per assaporare sapori locali come la zuppa di quinoa, verdure arrosto, patate andine, insalate fresche e carni regionali, il tutto preparato con ingredienti di altopiano. Situato in una tranquilla città di altopiano, il ristorante offre splendide viste sulle montagne e un'atmosfera calda e accogliente - la pausa perfetta per ricaricarsi prima di proseguire per Puno.
Ci fermiamo ad Abra La Raya, il drammatico passo di montagna che segna il confine naturale tra Cusco e Puno. A oltre 4.300 metri sul livello del mare, è il punto più alto del viaggio e una vetrina mozzafiato delle Ande in pieno splendore. Circondato da cime innevate e cielo infinito, questo è un momento perfetto per sgranchirsi le gambe, scattare foto e sentire la vastità degli altopiani del Perù.
La nostra ultima tappa è Pucará, il primo grande insediamento del bacino del Titicaca, risalente al 500 a.C. Un tempo fiorente centro altopiano, Pucará ne ospitava migliaia — da sacerdoti e artigiani a contadini e guerrieri. Oggi, offre una rara finestra sulla civiltà pre-Inca, nota per le sue sculture monolitiche in pietra dalle sorprendenti forme geometriche e animali, e vibranti ceramiche multicolori utilizzate sia nella vita quotidiana che nei rituali sacri. Uno sguardo affascinante sulle radici della cultura andina.

The journey itself is an enjoyable experience, The guide was excellent and the bus comfortable. Included lunch was also good. Communication leaves much to be desired. Had booked hotel pick up and drop off also. There was no contact by the operator and messaged them 2 days before to confirm details of the pickup. There was no response and then called them the day before. Again no response but got a messsge asking which trip we had booked and which hotel was pick up from !! Messaged back that this information was in their voucher which I had sent them earlier in the day. Again silence and then was informed in the evening that pickup would happen 6.20am. On arrival in Puno there was no body to guide us to the included and prepaid hotel transfer. After looking for the driver in vain arranged our own transportation. Messaged the operator and they casually replied that the Driver had a breakdown. Suggest only book the tour and no add ons.
The truth is that the journey is very pleasant. For a few hours more than on a traditional bus, we can make stops and visit impressive places. We were even able to participate in a workshop where we painted our own little bull. During the journey, there was tea and coffee. The food at the restaurant was very good. Our guide, Elizabeth, was very good, attentive, and pleasant. Honestly, I recommend it.

We chose this tour to travel from Puno to Cusco, and it was a great choice. The bus was very comfortable, with the option to enjoy tea and coffee throughout the trip. The lunch was excellent, served buffet-style with a panoramic view. The sites visited were very interesting, thanks also to the detailed explanations from Eli, our guide, who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with us. We recommend it!

Great bus, great service, wifi (starlink), great guide. We took also the train (Peru rail and Inka) and the bus is way better.

Top Tour. Especially If you want to go from Cusco to Puno. Interesting stops and not much longer than the normal Bus. Elli had a lot of great information and made the trip a delight!
