Great experience and very professional guide, perfect schedule and timing,………………..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Highly recommended tour! Stunning views on the way and great portion of Ethiopian heritage ! Our guide - Yeab was super professional and knowledgable. Both with Mr. Driver made our tour smooth and pleasent!
Visiting the rock church of Adadi Mariam and the UNESCO-listed Tiya site from Addis is a real adventue. I was in the safe hands of driver Tekeste and the friendly guide Haben. Haben guided me through the history of both places. Tekeske and his 4WD made it possible to visit the places. This was not only an historical experience but also a an immersion in the hectic life of traffic in Addis and the rural life at the countryside nowadays. Haben and Tekeste are both the perfect company for this adventure. They both speak really fluendly English. I hope to meet them again on a next trip in Ethiopia. Erwin
It was a very smooth and well organized tour. We went to a local restaurant to have breakfast and then headed to the church and UNESCO site. The driver and the guide were very friendly and knowleadgeable. I was lucky enough to see Sunday market in a village and some religious activities in a church. Money well spent.
The day trip was really amazing. The church is beautiful, particularly inside. really amazing artwork and stonework to create a very unique place. The archaeological site we were meant to visit was closed for maintenance, but the tour guide was able to adapt and we visited another one nearby. I certainly didn't miss out. The guide was very knowledgeable and helpful and was a great experience all round. Was collected and dropped back at my airbnb in addis
In fact, it is a deceit and it is swindlers. We have not visited the Tyia. Tyia it was only thing in this tour, because of what should go. Also, it was a terrible organization. First of all, you take away from the hotel, then taken to the their office, there a manager announces that you do not visit today 1/2/3, and there is no alternative. Put you before the fact. You have lost time, even if you can recieve money back. In fact I would say that it is swindlers and sincerely would recommend to remove tripadviser this travel agency that others do not suffer to the black list.
I ended up as the only person going so got a private tour. The guide Brahanu was very knowledgeable and I have seen a lot - not only the advertised attractions, but also quite a bit of countryside, and how people really live there etc. The trio was in a comfortable air conditioned combi. We stopped for traditional lunch at a local place which did not seem to be a tourist spot, but a place where the local hang out, and the food was really great.
The driver arrived an hour late then rather than starting the tour we got taken to a downtown office where we picked up the guide. The guide's English was poor, he could barely describe the main attractions. We got to Melka Kunture at 5.30 and it was closed so missed that part of the tour. That said, it was still a really good day. It's a great itinerary, breathtaking countryside and the guide was a good guy. It was nice getting to try some honey wine as well.
After sorting out a minor disconnect (make sure your driver knows exactly what trip you signed up for), we made our way South. Very interesting sites, lovely local guides and a wonderful driver made our day.
The trip was lovely. Adadi Mariam, Tiya and Melka Kunture trip was so amazing. We enjoyed the rock-hewn church, stelae field and the accomadatuions everything was so perfect .Ethio travel and Tours travel team was helpful arrangning this trip.
