Visita il Panteón de la Patria, un grande monumento del XVIII secolo che ospita i resti di importanti personalità dominicane. It was a 2 hour and 45-minute drive from Punta Cana to Santo Domingo. You need to know Spanish as no one could speak English on the tour.
Dear Thomas, First and foremost, we sincerely thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your excursion to Santo Domingo. We truly value your input, as it helps us improve our services. We would like to take this opportunity to offer some clarifications, with the sole aim of explaining how we organize our excursions to ensure a safe and satisfying experience for all our travelers. 1. Regarding the travel time: The journey between Punta Cana and Santo Domingo takes approximately 2.5 hours when traveling at the permitted speed. Safety is our absolute priority, and our drivers strictly adhere to established speed limits. Additionally, to provide this service, our drivers undertake an even longer trip, as they depart from Punta Cana, which represents a significant commitment of time and logistics on our part. 2. Regarding languages during the tour: We understand your observation. On shared or regular tours, such as the one you enjoyed, it is common for travelers of different nationalities to participate. Our guide speaks several languages precisely to cater to this diverse group. Their role is to explain instructions, history, and points of interest in the languages necessary so that all participants—not only English speakers—can understand the information and feel included. This enriches the group experience, but we understand it may result in less time dedicated exclusively to one language. In fact, our guide works as a language teacher on his days off, teaching English and French at a school. 3. Regarding the option of a single-language tour: For clients who prefer a more personalized experience with linguistic attention focused on a single language, we offer the option of booking a private tour. In this format, the guide dedicates themselves exclusively to your group, fully adapting to your language preferences and pace. We reiterate our gratitude for choosing our excursions. We regret if any aspect of the logistics or the multilingual explanations did not meet your expectations. We hope that, despite these details, you were still able to enjoy the beauty and history of Santo Domingo. We remain at your disposal for any future inquiries.
I loved the old city, a lot of history and people proud of their land. I think we should visit it for 2 days, we didn't have time to read what was exhibited in the museums.
If you would like to know part of the history of the Dominican Republic, this is the best tour. I recommend this company. They were punctual when picking up from the hotel and always paid attention to every detail. Lunch was very good Dominican food.
Although we were picked up on time, but had some problems at the collection point. The bus was already gone and we had to stay with the chauffeur. He'll sort it out. Then no more info, he picked up some other people and left for Saona... Great... In Bayahibe he organized some driver to cart us to Santo Domingo. This then dropped us off at some group and rushes us through this national park. We booked a German tour and ended up with a Spanish, we didn't get drinks either and we didn't understand a word from the tour. It was pure chaos - We were glad when we were at the hotel.
Please provide any proof about this tour, someone has been using our name to promote their business, you didn't book with Miguel's BonVoyage so we need to investigate. Thanks
The tour guide was great very informative and attentive. He spoke English well so didn’t have any problems understanding. The places visited were interesting and we enjoyed the history of Santo Domingo.
Very good beautiful René and Darius Very good work they behaved very well And the best and I recommend it.......
This was the best part of are trip. After a little mix-up on the pick up location, we were on our way. We need to be at a business lunch in Santo Domingo. Got there with plenty of time to spare. After our meeting, Paulino took us to the historic district were we met up with our tour guide. We had a great walking tour of the city with great commentary. Saw amazing buildings and historic sites. Stopped by a chocolate shop that was amazing. They ended the tour at a shop that sold jewelry and other gifts. The prices were great after a little back and forth. Wife found some earrings and a ring. The best part happened on the way home. My wife had told Paulino that she wanted some limoncillo when we got picked up. He said that might be hard but he would try. As we were driving home he spotted a car with a passenger eating some limoncillo. He waved them down and they were nice enough to share with us (we did give them a little for their trouble, not that they asked). It was an amazing experience. Really enjoyed the trip. Great price and even better service.
Perfectly organized, on time, clean and excellent driver. I recommend. The driver picked us up in the lobby of our hotel in Punta Cana. The car was clean and looked well maitained. Perfect end to end service.
This tour was cheaper than what was offered through our resort, so we decided to take a chance and check out Dominican capital city after spending majority of our vacation just chilling on the beach. We were picked up at specified time in a little van by a man in sweatpants, taken to Punta Cana and left at a bus stop letting us know someone will be here for us shortly. In about 15 minutes, as more people gathered, we were stuffed into another slightly bigger van with hard tiny seats and after an uncomfortable 2+ hour ride, we finally arrived in Santo Domingo. We picked up our tour guide, who spoke enough broken English for us to get the gist of his “tour”, although being the only English speakers in our group, we got the “concentrated” version. We were driven around the city, which was very dirty and not cute by any standards, piles and piles of trash everywhere, old falling-apart buildings. We stopped at a church, which was nice, Columbus’s son’s house, old town, taken to a buffet-style lunch of typical Dominican food, then allowed shopping time at local souvenir shop boasting trinkets made in China. Our last stop was at the National Park with some cool water caverns, then another 2+ hrs uncomfortable ride back to Punta Cana. This time everyone was dropped off at their respective resorts, which took an additional hour. Final thought - should have spent our last day on the beach instead.
Hello, my name is Migue Rivera, founder and owner of Bon Voyage Punta Cana, I requested TripAdvisor to remove this review since we do not offer these tours and I'm investigating who hacked our TripAdvisor listing and offered tours on our behalf. If you have a receipt, name or phone number it will be really appreciated, I work very hard to keep a great standard and lazy people are trying to take advantage and they don't even provide a good tour. You can call me at (352) 247-5693. Thanks
