Questi vecchi quartieri promettono un'esperienza pittoresca con i loro caffè retrò e gli edifici storici. Il tour parte dalla Manifattura Tabacchi Cibali, il simbolo del quartiere che racconta molto del processo di trasformazione della zona.
La Moschea Gül sarà la nostra seconda tappa con la sua storia misteriosa, che ci racconterà come si sono integrate le culture bizantina e ottomana.
Quindi ci dirigeremo verso Fener, che offre un'esperienza fantastica ai suoi visitatori con la sua atmosfera autentica, comprese molte chiese interessanti. La Chiesa patriarcale greco-ortodossa è una parte essenziale di questo tour perché è il luogo più sacro per tutti i 300 milioni di ortodossi in tutto il mondo.
La chiesa di Santa Maria dei Mongoli è l'unica chiesa bizantina di Costantinopoli che non è stata convertita in moschea. Sin dalla caduta di Costantinopoli, Santa Maria dei Mongoli è sempre stata aperta al popolo greco-ortodosso ed è rimasta alta da quando è stata completata nel 1281.
La Fener Greek High School for Boys ci accoglierà in tutto il suo splendore. È la più antica e prestigiosa scuola greco-ortodossa di Istanbul, in Turchia. Quindi prenderemo le strade strette e le piste con caffè colorati, ristoranti e negozi di antiquariato del quartiere.
Il resto del tour sarà a Balat, dove vivevano i greci e gli ebrei meno abbienti di Istanbul e sede di un numero sorprendente di chiese, moschee e sinagoghe. Camminando tra le macchie di colore e la vivacità della sua vita di strada, l'intreccio di stendibiancheria sugli edifici fatiscenti, le sinagoghe, le chiese e il labirinto di strade acciottolate.
La sinagoga Ahrida è una delle più antiche di tutta Istanbul. Il quartiere ebraico di Balat, un tempo fiorente, era servito dalla grande Sinagoga Ahrida e divenne uno degli edifici più importanti dell'intero quartiere. Diversi restauri nel corso dei secoli lo hanno mantenuto fedele al suo progetto architettonico originale.

Friendly, knowledgable guide. Excellent discussions on Turkish history and society. St. Georges's and St. Steven's churches are beautiful. Rest of the neighbourhood is beautiful and interesting without any particular "wow" factors. The views over the sea are beautiful. Be aware that some of the streets are very steep and could be slippery in the rain.
1 THE GUIDE WAS NOT INTRODUCED. Claiming for washap his fault, he indicated that he was sorry but that he was on vacation, he did not remember our visit. We had many expectations with this visit but we had to do it on our own without a guide. I mean, we can't say what the neighborhoods represent because there was no explanation.

No one turned up or contacted us . We crossed the city by tram to be there for 1015 and waited until 1045 in the rain and nothing . Tried calling but no response. Appalling
