Our self-tour itineraries are an intimate way of exploring the Tuscan countryside of Lucca aboard our vintage cars at your very own pace, with no hurries or tight schedules. Planned to take you away from traffic through pretty back roads and lovely sceneries, these programs will allow you to live your day aboard our Fiat 500s to the fullest! Explore the diverse countryside of Lucca, on charming roads surrounded by olive groves, rolling hills and historical architecture. Our itineraries have been studied on purpose to offer you a unique perspective on the territory, and drive on relaxing roads away from traffic so that you can truly enjoy the driving experience. Our aim is to offer you a laid back day, experiencing Tuscany like a real local and making unique memories to last you a lifetime.

Itinerario
Our tour will start from Lucca at our shop in Via Teresa Bandettini, just outside the city walls. Start your journey by following our itinerary, we will take you immediatly away from traffic and on little country roads to make the best of your day.
First landmark on our trip will be the Neoclassical Acqueduct of Nottolini, a massive 3.2km structure that we will drive underneath to reach the Compitese county, a land of olive groves and lush nature perfect to visit aboard a 500.
The quaint little country church works as a point of reference to navigate the charming roads of Gattaiola and Meati, with a mix of narrow roads, natural gardens and historical architecture.
Through more country roads, you'll arrive at an overlook right above the Lake of Massaciuccoli, and enjoy a beautiful vista over the lake and the whole Versilia coast below. On a clear day, you may even see some islands of the Tuscan archipelago.

We had a lovely day in Toscany with our Fiat 500! The staff was very kind and helpfull. They really took into account safety. They also gave us a map to pass by some viewpoints and a beautiful lake and afterwards gave us some recommendations to visit Lucca. Overall, a very succesfull day in our beautiful oldtimer Fiat. To be recommended!
The views were amazing, the cars fun to drive and our host Bella was absolutely amazing. Very knowledgeable about the area and culture. I would say that this is a must do for anyone traveling to Florence. This was one of the best part of our Italy trip so far.

We wanted to wander today. We were looking for a rental car or Vespa when we happened to see information about “Drive The Vintage.” Oh my! This is so much more than a rental car—it is an experience to cherish. They provide an amazing route (optional with stops, but we loved it) and suggestions. Highly recommend! They also rent new Vespas. One note, to rent a Fiat 500, you must know how to drive a stick shift (well). To rent a Vespa on Italian roads, you need scooter or motorcycle experience. Italian mountain roads are not the place to learn either in a single day.

What an adventure this was! So much fun to drive an old fiat 500 through the Tuscan landscape. Along the way enjoyed a picnic among the vineyard. Recommended! Tip: make sure you have the route available offline, because we had no service in the mountains so we were hopelessly lost. Calling drivethevintage also failed.

Had a fantastic time driving one of their classic Fiat 500, they even came around the corner to rescue us when we broke down and replaced the car!!! We went out to Devil’s Bridge and Torrente Lima and had a beautiful drive out. Customer service was perfect! Grazie Mille

I visited Lucca with my two boys (14 and 19) and decided that we wanted to have some experiences and do something different. This experience exceeded our expectations by a million miles and was one of the most memorable things that we have ever done. From the outset, the team at DriveTheVintage were hepful, very responsive to all of my email questions and really engaging. For those that don't speak Italian, there English was perfect. On arrival, the introduction and handover of the vehicle was friendly, informative and fun. The cars are in great condition and really exciting to drive. It's like driving a little piece of Italian history. The itinerary that they suggest is excellent and is fully plotted out on Google Maps, which along with the provided phone holder, made the journey easy. The roads were nice and quiet to drive, the countryside was lush and green and the views were spectacular. We stopped for a great fish lunch iat Osteria Le Terme in Massaciuccoli and I highly recommend that place. I totally recommend taking a portable charger with you to keep your phone running as having google maps on all day can drain the battery somewhat. Anyway, to wrap up. Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic.... we will be back!

Just loved our day travelling around in the vintage Fiat 500. Our best most memorable Tuscan experience so far. Very helpful staff eager to assist. Totally recommend this along with the picnic lunch in the vineyards.

Drove through the beautiful Tuscan countryside in a bright red Vintage Fiat 500, felt like a teenager again. ❤️ Stopped in Monte Carlo for a superb Tuscan lunch. The day was magical!
