Itinerario
Iniziamo il nostro viaggio in una delle piazze principali di Lucca, delimitata da maestosi palazzi cinquecenteschi. Mentre attraversiamo questo vivace hub, ci dirigeremo verso la nostra prima sosta per immergerci nelle delizie culinarie locali.
Ammirando la bella chiesa e la vivace piazza che la circonda, assaggeremo la prima specialità tradizionale lucchese, il Buccellato, un pane dolce aromatizzato con frutta e anice.
Successivamente, ci faremo strada attraverso Piazza Anfiteatro, il luogo più iconico e pittoresco di Lucca. Passeggeremo per questa piazza dalla forma unica, un tempo sede di un anfiteatro romano, prima di dirigerci verso la prossima tappa del nostro viaggio gastronomico.
In questa caratteristica sosta nel cuore della città murata, ci si concede un piatto di Tordelli, una pasta tradizionale lucchese ripiena di carne ed erbe aromatiche, servita in una salsa ricca e saporita. Un vero assaggio della tradizione culinaria della regione.
Continuando la nostra passeggiata per le affascinanti strade di Lucca, passeremo accanto all’iconica Torre Guinigi, una torre medievale con un giardino unico alla sua sommità, che offre uno scorcio sull’affascinante storia della città.
In questa graziosa piazza, ci fermeremo a gustare un piatto di salumi freschi locali, perfettamente abbinati a un bicchiere di vino rosso, immergendoci nella vivace atmosfera e bellezza di Lucca.
In via Buia, assaggeremo Cecina, un amato street food toscano a base di farina di ceci e servito caldo e salato. Questo piatto iconico è un vero favorito locale.
Concluderemo il nostro tour gastronomico con un dolcetto lungo Via San Paolino, dove ci concederemo un po 'di cioccolato locale e un dolce tradizionale, lasciandovi il finale perfetto per questa deliziosa esplorazione delle offerte culinarie di Lucca.

We had a wonderful and tasty time! Denia was extremely helpful and a great guide on the tour. She brought us to very special locations each with their own story. It was very evident she took the time to curate the spots we visited.

I often take a food tour in cities but this one was very disappointing . The foods tasted were normal everyday food . We learnt very little . 3 of the tastings were done standing in the street in very high temperatures . There were 4 of us and we were joined by 2 others . The dynamic was slow and rather boring . The guide was very inexperienced and didn’t add much to the evening . Not worth the money .

Regarding the format, some stops are indeed conducted standing outdoors, particularly in historic or pedestrian areas where partner venues do not have dedicated seating or where food is traditionally served street-side. Quick overview of some of Lucca’s “famous” spots! Our guide Denia was a fun local who gave us insight into many of the restaurants in town. Now I want to go back and enjoy a full meal, especially at Trattoria da Giulia!
We had a fabulous time doing the Lucca food tour!!! Our guide, Sacha, was everything!!! She was the perfect balance of chill, cool vibes but let’s get to the good places!!! She spoiled us with incredible locations and authentic Lucca favorites while providing information along the way. It was a lovely time and a highlight of our visit to charming Lucca. She was also so kind as to provide foodie spots in neighboring cities we were going to.
We very much enjoyed our food tour with Denia. We’d literally just arrived by train, dumped our bags and met up with her. There are so many food options so it was lovely to hear from a local what they like to eat and where. I wondered if we’d get enough to eat but there was ample! All the food was delicious and traditional and we learnt a little about this special town along the way.
We did the Food Tour with Sacha who turned out to be a very funny, thoughtful Guide and a fountain of Lucca Trivia. The Food was great, we had a lovely time with a delightful group. Can highly recommend and we will certainly be back :)
Lucca is a fabulous place that will capture anyone’s heart. Nicolleta was our guide on this tasting experience. We learned more about some of the sites of the city through her passionate eyes. This tour throws you comfortably into the culture of this warm and enchanting city. We attended with our two sons who are 21 and 18. It was a great way to celebrate this special place.
