Express Whale Watching a Dalvik vicino ad Akureyri nord Islanda

Við sáum hnúfubak og seli en stórkostlegast var að sjá tugi höfrunga stökkva allskonar heljarstökk og taka snúninga. Okkur leið eins og við værum á flugeldasýningu. Þessi upplifun er ógleymanleg og við gætum ekki mælt meira með áhöfninni og upplifuninni. ----- We went out on Rökkur, a boat operated by Arctic Sea Tours, on August 10, 2026. We were treated to a spectacular show in beautiful weather. We saw a humpback whale and seals, but the absolute highlight was watching dozens of dolphins leaping out of the water, performing incredible jumps, flips, and spins. It felt like we were watching a fireworks display. This was an unforgettable experience, and we couldn’t recommend the crew and the whole experience more highly.

This was a first whale watching experience for us, and it could not have been better! Our guides (Erik & Lardis sp?) were fantastic. They seemed passionate about their knowledge of marine life, safety, and helping us engage with the marine life in the fjord, all while having a THRILLING ride on the boat! We had LOTS of sightings, and the guide and driver made sure we were as close as possible to the humpbacks, dolphins, puffins, and seals as possible. So thankful for this fantastic and unforgettable experience!

An extraordinary experience we thought we might see a whale. Firstly we saw a pod of Atlantic Dolphins which was brilliant. We then moved further north out to sea a spotted a pod of humpback whales, estimated by our guide to be approximately 20 to 30 of these magnificent animals including what appeared to be a calf with its mother. We were, at a couple of points within about 5 metres of these incredible animals. A thrilling 3 hours with a fascinating insight from our guide and the ribs driver. I think we were incredibly lucky. Highly recommended

We had a great trip with Arctic Sea Tours. I had booked the trip a few months previously but there were only 6 people on our trip. They kitted us out with flotation suits and life jackets and briefed us on the rib. The seats were very comfortable. We encountered humpback whales quickly and on multiple occasions. The guide was very knowledgeable on the individuals and explained really well about them. When we returned to the base, they asked where we were heading next and recommended us Laki tours which was an excellent recommendation.

This is an outstanding family-operated company in Dalvik, which is much less well-known than Husavik and overall provided a much better experience. Their rib boats are extremely comfortable, with suspension seats (very helpful in bumpy waters), and they encourage guests to get up and move around while stopped at sightings (something most of the other Iceland companies I tried did not allow). We went with the 11 a.m. tour and had such a great time that we came back for the midnight sun whale watch the same day (you get a discount for doing so!). Both times, we saw 3-4 humpback whales and 3-4 minke whales being relatively active. We really liked that we didn't stay with one whale for an hour (as we did in Husavik) and instead went in search of other whales and experiences. You can tell the captain really knows the area and has great skill in locating the whales. The midnight sun tour provided some beautiful lighting, and we had the strange of experience of seeing the sun go down around midnight and rise as we were driving home at 2 a.m.

Great experience, have been with the late boat of 23 hours. They know exactly where the whales are and had 10 around us. Magical experience to remember

Great outing. The zodiac principle has the advantage of being as close as possible to Moby-dic without disturbing her too much. In addition, adjectives such as welcoming, warm, friendly and great specialists are the keywords of the organizing team. Black globicephalus, humpback whale made us full of it. It was a great experience. The guides were happy to share information about the whales. .We have spotted two whales and enjoyed the speedy ride in the boat.

Amazing trip - we were so lucky to see many whales up very close to the boat! Well organised, they provide the suit and life jacket and they are experts in whales. Lovely team, super helpful. Good facilities at the ticket office including parking, petrol and clean toilets. We saw whales within a few minutes and throughout the trip. The rib is much more comfortable than it looks!

Very informative and friendly captain, well organized and safe. A very good activity. The only thing missing was a warming cup of coffee or chocolate afterwards..
